The historians should be telling him that this is the biggest fuckup in history and the generals should tell him to shut the fuck up and bring our families out of Iraq. IMHO.

(wanna bet none of these are the generals calling for an immediate pullout)

2. Gen. McCaffrey has no tact. He'll say it. He even said the Pentagon was lying...
about casualties.

3. doris kearns goodwin will kiss his ass and probably so will every historian who meets with him.
Edited on Mon Dec-11-06 10:17 AM by flordehinojos
and, what in fact is he meeting with historians about? the historians look at history after it has happened. is he trying to insure that they will paint him as a god-hero when they write history about him?

7. Maybe he wants them to tell him about how Lincoln was unpopular when the civil war started off...
Edited on Mon Dec-11-06 10:26 AM by Crankie Avalon
...not as well as the north would have liked, or how Churchill was a Cassandra who was eventually vindicated. In other words, he wants to playact that he's Lincoln or Churchill going through a "darkest before the storm" patch, again.

8. Is there a list of these historians and retired generals??
I can bet they'll be selected based on their lack of spine and independent thought.

12. Wouldn't it be cool if we could get out a war without doing a damned AA intervention?
How utterly pathetic. Everyone is saying let's develop an exit strategy and Lord Pissypants is refusing to even listen, so we have to bring in a team of experts to teach the president of the United States how to pinch a loaf.
