Beck: Holocaust deniers - only one not there was Jimmy Carter

On the December 14 edition of his CNN Headline News program, discussing Iran's December 11 conference, a gathering of Holocaust deniers purportedly to "debate" the existence of the Holocaust, Glenn Beck said: "When I saw David Duke there, I thought, 'Gee, the only one that wasn't there was Jimmy Carter.' "

But in 1979, then-President Carter signed the executive order to establish the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. The order defined the Holocaust as "the systematic and State-sponsored extermination of six million Jews and some five million other peoples by the Nazis and their collaborators during World War II."

During the conversation with Heritage Foundation senior fellow Peter Brookes, Beck added that "maybe Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad just didn't want to invite Jimmy Carter, because he was like, 'Oh, well, he'll discredit the whole conference. That guy's always wrong.' "

As Media Matters for America has noted, Beck has previously referred to Carter as a "waste of skin."

a year or two ago by two professors. They did a study and found that people who criticize Israel even in the slightest get personally and professionally attacked. After the paper came out, they were both harshly criticized (pretty much supporting what the study was showing). IIRC, at least one of the profs was Jewish too.

They hate Carter because he is a much better Christian than anyone from the "religious" right. They know that he makes them look VERY bad. Jimmy Carter is the kind of Christian that is truly following what he believes in rather than following the extremely bastardized version of Christianity that people like Dobson and Fawell preach.

Beck is disgusting and his hatred should not be given a platform on any credible news outlet. MSNBC learned their lesson with Michael Savage. Let's hope CNN can figure this one out soon.
