New term for Wal-Mart shopping!
The young woman who takes care of my elderly parents came back from Christmas shopping at Wally World (Wal-Mart). She said she was the victim of CART-RAGE! A disgruntled shopper who was told they were out of some gift rammed my friend's cart with hers as she was leaving the area--cursing and glaring at everyone.... CART-RAGE!!! Roflmao!!!

14. Attn: all BlueSmock units, report to aisle 7, corner of Farberware and Corning.
Possible rollover with PI, suspect headed west on foot toward shoe department.

5. I've seen that attitude every Xmas season
for as long as I can remember. That's one reason I hibernate between Thanksgiving and New Year's, only venturing out at 6 AM for groceries and on a Tuesday morning to pick up my drugs.

(I did go to a mall this year, drove past and couldn't believe how empty the parking lot was, so I stuck my nose inside. It was DEAD. It was dead at noon on a Friday!)

All that Xmas merriment and good cheer makes too many people mean as snakes. Hiding from them is better.

We need to be on the lookout for cart rage during the War on Christmas! Do they have defensive drivers courses in the foodmart?

Let us hope they don't have concealed handguns in them carts!

10. Now they're going to have to put bumpers on carts...
or maybe sell cart insurance to shoppers.

12. Another reason why I just paid extra NOT to buy from Wal-Mart
MorningGlow Jr., toddler, wants some particular toys and things for Christmas. Two of the items were only available at Wal-Mart (if I wanted to get them locally). I paid a higher price both times to get them mail order, rather than enter that Hell on Earth this season (or any other time).

16. Bingo
but additionally they're shopping to express love. You have to laugh or you'll cry for days.

15. WalMart Sales down in Wally World's home territory
yep, I live in THAT part of Arkansas-has seen sales plummet recently. No one wants to go there to shop any more-they say the place is unfriendly and cold. This was the second Wal Mart Sam Walton opened--if this is the case everywhere, the chain is in trouble (which is fine with me).

18. Sometimes you just gotta...
and the one two blocks from my house is open 24/7.
I like being able to shop at 2AM...no screaming, over-tired, over-stimulated children...and believe it or not, I don't get the Evil Eye from the stockers and cleaners either.
One of the ladies and I discussed cookie recipes when she was helping me find something.
I think something that gets overlooked a LOT is that while the bigwigs who OWN Sam's Corporation and ruined what Sam Walton originally envisioned are utter soulless bastards, there are regular, ordinary PEOPLE who work there too.

The greeter whose grandson has a 50 state quarter collection. The produce guy who told me how to make watermelon wine...in the melon. The guy in Pet Supplies who ran all over the store to find the guy who had the information I was looking for. The ladies in Fabric and Crafts who are damn near mindreaders when people come in- "I need something that will do THIS.." but they have no idea what it is called. The checker who noticed my 10 lb bag-o-chicken was leaking, and called one of the guys in the meat dept to get RID of this bag and get me another one that wasn't. And she did it without me asking.
Nice people, all of them.

I realize this doesn't fit with the We Hate Walmart theme of this thread...
but then, I sometimes don't play well with others either.

19. Good Point, badgerpup, but I never intended
to denigrate the folks who work there-- my point was that the shoppers were not exactly exhibiting the spirit of Christmas. We got the buffoons on talk radio screaming about the "war on Christmas" and their listening public acting like they're on the front lines...pathetic!

:scared:
...which is why I prefer to shop at two in the morning! :D

21. It's funny, actually...
I'm currently working at Target, and even when the aisles are filled to brim, and negotiation the aisles is next to impossible, most of the people are unfailingly polite. Part of it is that we, the team members, are bright and friendly people, and we go out of our way to help. When someone is looking for something in particular, I will set aside what I'm doing and help them out. If I don't know where it is, I will help them find it. The last couple of days I've been working in toys and people have been gratified for the help I willingly provide.

I have the feeling Wal-Mart is completely different.
