War On Christmas.....an email from a Republican
I know Christmas is over, but I just got this in an email..........

Send this to all of your friends that care...knowledge is power...

see a recurring theme going on here...???

Anti-Christmas votes

Last week, the House of Representatives passed a resolution
to protect the symbols and traditions of Christmas.
The vote was 401-22 in favor of the resolution (5 voted "present");
below are the representatives that voted "nay."

Gary Ackerman (D-NY)
Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) figures!!!!!!!!
Lois Capps (D-CA)
Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO)
Diana DeGette (D-CO)
Jane Harman (D-CA)
Alcee Hastings (D-FL)
Michael Honda (D-CA)
Barbara Lee (D-CA)
John Lewis (D-GA)
Jim McDermott (D-WA)
George Miller (D-CA)
Gwen Moore (D-WI)
James Moran (D-VA)
Donald Payne (D-NJ)
Bobby Rush (D-IL)
Janice Schakowsky (D-IL)
Bobby Scott (D-VA)
Fortney Stark (D-CA)
Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL)
Robert Wexler (D-FL)
Lynn Woolsey (D-CA)

And this is my reply:

Yes while Congress was voting on a silly bill, something that the rightwing thought up with their "war on christmas" crap

The President of the US was spying on the American people, (which is against the law, if no warrants were issued) and is an IMPEACHABLE offense
Lewis Libby was still under investigation for a felony crime of "outing" a CIA agent
People in Iraq were getting their "freedom" while people in the US are losing theirs
People in Iraq are also getting most of our tax dollars
While New Orleans is still damaged
Congressman Duke Cunningham R-CA resigns after taking bribes from defense contractors etc...........typical Republican
Tom Delay R-TX is under indictment for money laundering..............typical Republican
Bill Frist Senator R-TN is under investigation for SEC violations, insider trading........typical Republican
Karl Rove is still under investigation.........see L Libby above
Halliburton is making massive profits in Iraq and screwing the government
Oil companies made record landslide profits

And Krishtuns whine about Christmas..............

Maybe these are the same Congressmen that voted for "Freedom fries" and "Freedom toast" in their cafeteria....

Make me hurl..................what a bunch of whining losers

Can they get back to the real business of Congress...and do something really constructive

and by the way..............Happy F-IN Holidays........................

3. Been there, done that with my brother
just last week. They don't want to hear or know the truth. They prefer to listen to the religious leaders, Rush, or Faux.
Even with the internet at their disposal, they have no interest in opening up their minds.
Nice response, but I gave up. :-(

10. Meanwhile Republicans conduct war on Christ.
Every teaching of Chris is ignored by the Republican party yet they complain about Christmas?

13. Good response..I'm not so sure what
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 08:34 PM by peanutbrittle
they are so worried about when 80% of the population do not have a problem with Christmas, how can it be that huge of a threat/war?

The best one I heard / I like, was "the people I really have a problem with are the one's who do not believe in Santa Claus" :+

15. Expressing the nonsense of the House
" BILL TITLE: Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that those who celebrate Christmas believe that the symbols and traditions of Christmas should be protected"

Limply fanning the fire. Perusing some of the other pressing business on that day also speaks to the importance of the matters that this august body deals with while this nation crumbles.
