For the benefit of all...A re-writing of congressman goode's letter
Thank you for your recent communication. When I raise my hand to take the oath as the President of Germany, I will have a Bible in my hand. I do not subscribe to the Torah in any way. The Jewish menace was elected by the voters of that district and if German citizens don’t wake up and adopt the Adolf Hitler position on immigration there will likely be many more Jews elected to office and demanding the use of the Torah. We need to stop illegal immigration totally and reduce legal immigration and end the diversity visas policy pushed hard by the Jewish conspiracy that is allowing many Jews to come to this country. I fear that in the next century we will have many more Jews in Germany if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to Germany and to prevent our resources from being swamped.

“As long as I have the honor of representing the Aryan citizens of the Fatherland, The Torah is not going to be on the wall of my office.” Thank you again for your email and thoughts.

Are we really that far off?

1. I have a friend who just learned of the letter
and is extremely angry about it. I have emailed a link to your post, as I think she will appreciate your efforts.

And in answer to your question, Nein, wir zind nicht.

2. Actually similar things were said in Congress during
WW II. When the ship, the SS St Louis, wanted to dock in the US so that its Jewish passengers could seek refuge it was denied. The passengers then pleaded to at least let the children stay in the US. The response was that Jewish children grow up to be Jewish adults.

As a Jew I find Mr Goode's comments to be despicable and I urge all to condemn them.

Here is a blurb about the efforts of those on the St Louis to gain entry into the US:

http://www.jstandard.com/articles/939/1/A-blessed-voyager-among-the-damned

...As the ship floated close enough to American shores to see the lights of Miami, the U.S. Coast Guard patrolled the waters so that no one could jump ship. Pleas to President Roosevelt and the State Department were ignored or rebuffed. Though the American public, at least in the media, seemed to empathize with the plight of the refugees, immigration quotas had been met, and no one was about to let anyone else into the country. A Fortune magazine poll at the time indicated that 83 percent of Americans opposed relaxing restrictions on immigration. At that same time, a bill in Congress, set to rescue 20,000 Jewish children, was allowed to die in committee. America’s gates were effectively locked.
