Sure is quiet on the Tim Johnson front.......
For a media who thrives on people's ill health, it's just amazing how quiet they are about the senator from South Dakota.

1. In cases like this
no news from our corpo media, is good news

Also... there may be a general order, by request from the family, to tell the media to pack sand.

As a medic I have told media to go pack sand, so it would not be surprising to me

5. As a nurse, I've had to tell the media "WHO? Not on this floor, bud"
more than once. That the family and hospital are keeping it zipped is no surprise.

There will probably be a short announcement when he comes off the ventilator and maybe even that will be postponed until after Monday.

I suspect he'll need speech rehab at the very least.

6. Trust me one of my patients potentially would have
been rather VIPish, sad or good that he\she wasn't an actual patient, but you know how the media reacts....

They got loud

They got rather demanding...

It got interesting

It got ugly

And boy the games we had to play to ahem, keep privacy...

And as you can tell, still am

2. That's Because There Really Hasn't Been Anything To Update.
Edited on Sat Dec-23-06 10:20 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
Did you want them to tell you every time he pees or something?

Right now there hasn't been anything further significantly to report.

Oh wait, were you waiting for some report that they caught the guy who poisoned him?

11. Now that you've been around a while
I've learned your value

But still

I wish you wouldn't SHOUT your name
when you enter a room

Perhaps a nice note to Skinner could solve that problem

13. Seriously?
Hmmmm. Maybe I could give that a shot. I originally did it in all caps because I lurked here for a while before signing up and I found that those that had names in all caps were easier to have their specific posts found when scrolling down the list. Figured it would be useful to have it easier to find my own posts when scrolling down the list, to see if anyone replied.

That was my original intention. But I must admit, I've kinda regretted it. Maybe it's worth a try. :)

3. Now that it looks like he'll fully recover it's boring and old news.
Blunt, but truthful.

4. I hope so but how would we know? I haven't seen any pictures of him.
Usually there will be some response by this point, especially when they are stating he's doing so much better.

Being that our Corporate media is rather inclined to be less than forthcoming on most issues that matter to us the citizens these days, it would be nice to at least have a wave and a thumbs up from Senator Johnson himself.

I would imagine he would be more than happy to extend his thanks to those who have been so concerned about him.

8. nah, as I wrote up in the thread
they are keeping it quiet, most likely at the request of the family, and I for one cannot blame them

The media can really be fun NOT, in these situations

9. a little more
Apparently he's expected to remain sedated over the holidays so that he rests. Recovery may take a few months, but recovery seems to be spoken of confidently. Let's hope it's 100%.
