Laura Bush, Just as Dumb as Her Husband (on Face the Nation)
Edited on Sun Dec-24-06 11:00 AM by Stephanie

Are you watching this on Face the Nation? She's dripping sweat from the strenuous effort of lying her ass off. She's made up like a circus clown. And she's gushing over her husband, the genius.

Do you give him advice? "Nobody wants to be told what to do. I'm his wife. I want to be with him in a way that's comforting for both of us." (Ick!)

"He understands people in a way that I don't. I can tell by the way he talks to our troops, by the way he talks to children."

"He's read a lot of books this year."

"One of the reasons I wanted to marry him was because I knew he'd make me laugh and' we'd have an interesting and funny life."

5. She's as repulsive as Donald Trump, only she's really dumb, too.
Edited on Sun Dec-24-06 10:53 AM by mtnsnake
She's like that shallow person you get stuck talking to at a party that you wish the fuck you could just get away from...fast.

(on edit: Well, nobody's as repulsive as Trump, but Laura does give him some competition.)

What if that person is fucking up royally, Mrs. Bush? I'm beginning to understand why your children are such irresponsible airheads. I thought they were going to go teach poor kids in Harlem and help bring medicine and water to people in Africa? Where are your children this Christmas, Mrs. Bush?

15. Yeah. They laughed their asses off the night of 911. Here:
George W. Bush on 9/11: "But the day ended on a relatively humorous note."
Ladies Home Journal:

Peggy Noonan (the interviewer): You were separated on September 11th. What was it like when you saw each other again?

Laura Bush: Well, we just hugged. I think there was a certain amount of security in being with each other than being apart.

George W. Bush: But the day ended on a relatively humorous note. The agents said, “you’ll be sleeping downstairs. Washington’s still a dangerous place.” And I said no, I can’t sleep down there, the bed didn’t look comfortable. I was really tired, Laura was tired, we like our own bed. We like our own routine. You know, kind of a nester. I knew I had to deal with the issue the next day and provide strength and comfort to the country, and so I needed rest in order to be mentally prepared. So I told the agent we’re going upstairs, and he reluctantly said okay. Laura wears contacts, and she was sound asleep. Barney was there. And the agent comes running up and says, “We’re under attack. We need you downstairs,” and so there we go. I’m in my running shorts and my T-shirt, and I’m barefooted. Got the dog in one hand, Laura had a cat, I’m holding Laura —

Laura Bush: I don’t have my contacts in , and I’m in my fuzzy house slippers —

George W. Bush: And this guy’s out of breath, and we’re heading straight down to the basement because there’s an incoming unidentified airplane, which is coming toward the White House. Then the guy says it’s a friendly airplane. And we hustle all the way back up stairs and go to bed.

Mrs. Bush: And we just lay there thinking about the way we must have looked.

Peggy Noonan (interviewer): So the day starts in tragedy and ends in Marx Brothers.

George W. Bush: That’s right — we got a laugh out of it.

19. Only a sociopath could come up with a line like that
Mrs. Bush: And we just lay there thinking about the way we must have looked.

Yeah, that's the way to end a day in which around 3000 people died: worried about how you look.

And did anyone notice how much bush went out of his way to explain why he needed to sleep in a comfortable bed? (...doth protest too much.) He's a nester. Then he goes to providing comfort to the country. He's fully cognizant of his selfishness and is managing perceptions of himself.

18. An interesting an funny life???

They killed almost 3000 American men and women, started an unnecessary
war, ripped our Constitution to shreds, enriched their buddies at the
expense of the rest of us, turned our formerly democratic society
into a dictatorship and basically trashed everything that was good
about our country.

Yes, Pickles, it has been a laugh a minute for the rest of us.
What a stupid, stupid bitch.

Edit: perhaps it's this? Something to do with a drug-enforcement officer in Texas being killed. An anti-drug, "guilting" mechanism as well as a tribute to the slain officer.

Maybe she's hoping George will finally kick his coke habit?

25. I for one feel sorry for Laura. She is not a robot and she probably
has had it a lot more difficult with George (who is more like a child then anything) then we realise. One of the reasons she probably is not in the spotlight much, she simply does not want to be there and can only hold up pretense for so long.

26. And she did warn us about what a "touchy" individual he is
back during the 2000 campaign.

She never wanted to be where she is now. How could she have suspected that they would have ever run him for prez? And that they'd manage to scuttle him into office?

It's still a tragically amazing occurence to ponder, even at this late date.

27. Exactly, and while we may find it easy to mock and dislike and even
hate her husband, she is married to him and may feel she has no choice but to stay with him.

Perhaps had she walked with those who have lost much at the hands of her husband she could find the reason to leave but they never let her do that. We are not her and we do not know.
