Was Listening to a popular TV Preacher yesterday - Man, what a crock!
I am not anti religion. Just to set that straight.

But in this one sermon he called the ACLU - anti Christian. That is what the AC stands for.

Humanists are pagans!

Everyone is out to completely destroy Christmas. Where did that whole thing get started? No one is trying to destroy Xmas. No one could.

And that whole deal with the Christmas Trees at the airport that were taken down because the Rabbi wanted to have a Menorah put up. That was all part of the plot to destroy Christmas. Of course, he never went on to mention that was not the reaction that Rabbi expected - he never meant that the Xmas trees should be taken down. He just wanted them to add a Menorah.

When did paranoia become such an important part of the Christian message? Because it plays a pretty important role now. Fear must play well in Peoria.

2. Was that whackjobs name D. James Kennedy?
He has a real problem with the ACLU. He has a real problem with anything that slows down his march towards "Reclaiming America for Christ"

5. Paranoids sense their own internal weaknesses and project it into
the World in their sense of being offended and/or attacked by absolutely anything and everything.

What we are hearing then is a people of little Faith trying to inflate their internal emptiness through human sacrifices to their puny little god.

They are both televangelist/gasbags who have openly expressed their devotion... to the current President. Kennedy, in particular, obsesses about the ACLU constantly.. when he's not busy producing 'scientific' educational programs supporting intelligent design.

8. I'm trying to find a picture of the guy to see who he is. I see him on TV a lot
He is kind of distinguished looking - black hair with white in it - kind of medium build. And he always wears robes and preaches from a lecturn.

I'll see if I can find him.

I hadn't ever paid him any attention but I was puppy sitting this morning so I sat and listened for a while. That man is just a fount of misinformation.

What about that lady with the platinum pink HAIR who danced around with the little white barbie-dolls she was handing out to small Black children in her African Orphanage/Christian Mission? I think she's still witnessing Herself in some big church near Miami.

11. I think it was Kennedy. His pictures on his website look like they are
pretty old but I think it's him.

I have see that James Hagee on TV, too. Man, he really gets to rolling.

I kind of get a kick out of some of those ole time religion preachers - they just get so wound up. And pretty soon everyone in the audience gets to rolling. It's funny.

9. Whatever keeps the "donations" coming in.
Of course, the money is to be spent doing "good works" and promoting "Christianity".

14. Some of those denominations really believe that if they believe that
stuff God will make them wealthy.

That seems like kind of an odd abomination to me. But what do I know? Like how many times does it say in the New Testament that wealth is a major, major problem?

17. Well, everybody knows that Jesus wasn't a "good" Christian.
All that commie talk about succoring the poor, turning the other cheek, giving away your wealth, making peace, etc.

Well, what can you expect from some dirt poor laborer from nowheresville who didn't really understand what he was saying? It's rather hard to imagine "real" Christians kicking over the tables of the money-changers in the temple.

Sometimes I just sit and listen in amazement.

But then you probably won't ever find the real mccoy on TV in front of thousands of rapt admirers. But I sure have met the real thing down serving food at the Worker House.

26. A goodly number of Christians I've run across aren't "Christians".
They just did as Jesus taught even though they might be Atheists, agnostics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, or what have you.

Also, I've run across my share of self-defined Christians who do the same with or without the approval of the various churches.

Here's a Muslim doing as Jesus taught. She's a 14 year old girl living in Mosul in Iraq.

A friend in need is a friend indeed ......

Hello friends , how are you ?
I've been busy with exams and homework this week , we didn't have electricity all most at all , I used to study on the torch's light . in addition it is so cold in Mosul now , and we don't have fuel for the subas ( kind of heaters work on fuel) , it is really nice conditions to study , dark , cold with sounds of shooting and explosions , and as my room has large windows , I sometime can't study in it , whenever shooting began I ran from room and hide in the corridor .
As well as I was trying to help a child with heart problem and send him abroad , and contacting organizations for Mohamed , collecting money for R's computer ,in fact it was a week for doing good things.

In this week , I decided to collect money to buy a computer for R , (my best friend who lost her dad as well as 6 relatives ), and I collected so good amount of money , I can't wait till I see her impressions when I will bring the computer to school , I think it is really nice present . when I told my friends about my idea , they said " you are crazy" , " we can't collect money for a computer " ! 17 girls participated and now we have more than four hundred fifty (450000 ID) , I had no idea that I will collect that quantity I am so happy , R will be too happy ..
My mom , grandma , and grandpa very much liked the idea , and they are supporting me , by efforts and money .

B , who I considered her as a faithful friend , went to the girls to convince them not to participate " that is ridiculous, useless, and you are wasting your money on something silly like that ? " those were her words .. I don't know why she is doing that , when I decided to help Mohamed and the 5 years old boy with heart problem she said " you are stupid , do something useful" , is there any thing useful more then saving people's lives? .
I teach R how to use computer twice a week ( we have old computers in school ) . she feel comfortable to talk to me , because she's sure that I will not tell any one about her problems, when I reach home I burst with tears , she is living in such hard circumstances, and her financial condition is really bad , I try to help her in simple things , like buy her stuff she needs , or in any possible way I can do , like in computer lesson , the teacher wanted us to create a computer program , she said "if you don't know you will have to go to a programmer and pay for him, but that will cost a lot " creating a program costs about 175000ID that is a LOT OF MONEY , Anariki and the kid helped me making the program and I added R's name next to mine in this project , as well as S my other best friend .
the computer teacher is so mean with R , she say " why don't you have computer ? ","are you illiterates ?"," only people who are …. You know don't have computers"" she means poor people , or" are you still illiterates" , " everyone have computers in their houses ? " can you believe that anyone in this world can say such things to a poor orphan ? I went to another teacher and told her , R really get hurt from the teacher's word , not all of the people in the world are rich and have computers .
Anyway I told R that I bought her a computer ( I didn’t until now , but I told her I did ,so that she can't refuse taking the present, pride issues again) , she refused first , but I convinced her hardly and told her that my relatives sell computes and they didn’t take so much money from me , ( she believed that , heheheh ) I don't lie , but I had to this time . she's extremely happy, but she still have doubts that we might be kidding or it's just a jock , but she will be sure that I am serious when the computer will be in her bedroom .
I told her because the girls condition was to tell R first , and if she agree they will bring the money ..
R's dad bought them a computer desk , and a chair before he died , he was planning to buy the computer on Sunday , but unfortunately he was killed on Thursday .

I contacted more organizations for Mohamed , but I didn't get a reply until now.
I knew about a child names Mohamed Gasim Mohamed , with a heart problem , i have his medical report and will contact the organizations , I hope they can send him abroad .

15. "End Times" hype to keep folks emptying their wallets.
A few years ago was on a long drive - no decent radio reception but a fundy station. They were going on and on and on about "Christian Persecution" (and I was thinking... these aren't examples of persecution - persecution is when you are at risk of losing property, jobs, freedom and/or death due to religion, plenty of *real* examples in history)... then the guy moves on into End Times talk... and apparently rampant "persecution of Christians" is a prerequisite condition. Thus the "war on Christmas" is part of the story line to keep listeners and viewers convinced that these are examples of real religious persecution against Christians... so that they better GIVE now, before the End Times, so that God will judge them well during the rapture.

They push the fear in order to open the wallets.

16. Early Christians really were persecuted - rounded up and killed in
lots of creative ways.

But these people aren't persecuted except in their own minds. And what flack they do receive from the community at large they have brought on themselves just by doing stupid stuff. Saying stupid hateful stuff.

Their persecution complex is so bogus. But I guess its useful.

18. It is ignorant, and at times reaches the absurd...
for example, last year Orielly went off on a Priest and compared the Catholic Church's silence on the "War on Christmas" issue (what issue?!?!) to the Church's silence in the past about pedofile Priests.

Seriously - he made that comparison - during an angry tirate.

Absolutely ignorant and absurd.

Why no threads about that kind of Christian?
