I'll bet $10 that we do, with lots of references to his having been part of the Warren Commission.

I can't wait.

I should probably just go to bed.

Yeah they get crazy and the anti-CT flamebait gets old :).

This just seemed like flamebait. Oh well-to each their own I suppose.
I am going to hide this thread-it will be around a long time and waste a lot of people's time and not educate or inform anyone, but...to each his or her own.

I guess some people like to feel superior to others just as some people need crazy CTs to make their world interesting. Both waste a lot of time and energy that could be spent working on stuff important to true progressives.

Good night :).

You want us all to be intellectuals? Political pundits? Savvy analysts? Half or more of the people here visit for purposes of reading the nutjobs. Maybe they pick something up along the way. That's good. Maybe they see people getting all steroid like on some mild fun poking. That's bad.

32. Which thread is that? If you're suggesting it's my thread I would ask that you:
First, look at the posting times.

This thread is an assinine response to my SIMPLE STATEMENT of FACT.

Secondly, at no time did I say anything that implied Ford's death was untimely or unnatural.

Thirdly, I never said anything about the BFEE.

The fact that some DU members haven't been getting enough attention lately and need to start pointless and self-embarrassing threads based on his own misdrawn conclusions, I would suggest they and others of that ilk have listened to one too many White House press conferences and no longer know how to have a simple discussion about an actual fact.

If there's another thread that actually suggests Ford's death was due to BFEE and was somehow untimely, I will apologize.

42. Bullshit!
We've eaten enough Republican bullshit over the last six years to smell it ten miles away.

You cite three threads that "inspired" this pointless flame-bait, and that one is included. It's obvious from the posting times. Nevermind that none of the threads you cite as "it's already begun" have anything to do with the fantasy you've concocted which is totally insulting to DU as a whole and embarrassing to you and DU.

You say you've 'got to have some fun' which translates to YOU LIKE TO STIR SHIT even where none exists.

Bra-fucking-vo!

Other than that I remember his administration as kind of uneventful.

Maybe I missed something back then?

Edited on Wed Dec-27-06 12:31 AM by nam78_two
lets just start threads about such things anyway to imply how stupid and obsessed with conspiracies DUers are blah blah.... :eyes:

How about waiting for them to start before starting threads on them? Personally I think the CTist DUers are way less annoying than the centrist, DLC shills who are so smug and conscious about how "sensible" and "practical" and overall adorably clever they are. Especially given that they are the ones posting in the most useless threads like "Woman loses baby in mall", "Man has two wives" etc.

I prefer misguided threads with some historical context at least to the Fox News Greta Van Susteran style threads on "Human Interest stories" or the navel gazing ones about DU itself or the flamebait smoker vs non, pro/anti video game ones or the ones gawking at Freepers. Most threads on the environment, Darfur etc. sink like stones here and the "sensible, awesome" DUers aren't posting on those...

sheesh...

59. You got that right: time for a break. Or for hanging out at the Lounge exclusively.
The level of anger and hardcore unforgivingness gets old damned fast, doesn't it?

65. "Started to argh people?" I love it. I'll steal it, and use it. What a great phrase.
I'm off to read a great book about Albania, and let people beat themselves to death against each other in GD as well.

Sleep well.

Du is kind of a family, and family members tend to poke fun at one another.

Sorry I don't subscribe to your orthodoxy. I'll try to do better in the future.

And yes, I still believe he was a good man. Even if it doesn't jibe with your orthodoxy.

More enlightening would be why you judge Ford to be "a good man", your not, presumably, having known him personally. Was it because he pardoned Nixon?

71. It's a distraction put made possible by the bfee, yes indeed :)
They saw James Brown die and had to counter it so he would not get his due. Plus, they want us to totally forget there is a war. And it helps with some alien cover ups (plus - what did Ford know about 9/11???).

Now if we can just get bush to step away from the tsunami machine....

99. PLUS, they needed a distraction
big time

Ford was all too happy to commit unnatural acts for the good of the RW Authoritarian repukes for his whole career. They probably asked him to die now to give Junior more time to "mull over" his Iraq debacle and Ford, ever compliant, agreed to do it.

77. Ford minions Cheney and Rumsfeld covered up death of Frank Olsen.
Mr. Olsen was the CIA scientist who refused to go along with the plan. So, he was fed LSD, driven mad, and then "suicided."

http://www.serendipity.li/cia/olson2.htm

Cheney and Rumsfeld were crucial in covering up the crime.

Rummy and Cheney are BFEE turds, but I don't think they killed Ford, though. Real funny, huh?

Susan - Jenna.

Gerald - George.

88. I'll take that at face value, and say this:
I don't mind having my quirks and foibles and tendencies pointed out in a humorous manner by other DUers. That's what friends do, after all. And it seems that quite a few other DUers are capable of chuckling at DU's tendency, as a group, to not take anything at face value, and to blow a LOT of things WAY out of proportion.

But some of us don't have much of a sense of humor. I suppose that happens in this large a group of people.
