Did Hitler ever try to be funny like Chimpy? You know, looking for WMD's
under tables, whining about brush-cutting boo-boos to war- injured soldiers with amputations, etc., ad nauseum.....does anyone know of examples of Hitler attempts at mirth? Because if there are none, I think we may be insulting Hitler with Dubya comparisons.

2. This was inspired by the thread about a DU member's nephew getting
killed for his honorable and continued service. I respectfully & grimly salute him.

Then I think about this scurrilous, squandering, gleeful imp scampering around trying to preserve some nebulous legacy imprinted in his syphilitically deranged sense of entitlement shriveled raisin of a half-wit brain & I am DONE with playing nice for the "good" of the country! What GOOOD INDEED?

3. Supposedly Hitler danced when Paris fell
but it was really Allied propaganda--Hitler jumped in surprise, and they doctored the film to show the jump over and over like he was dancing. But by and large Hitler wasn't mirthful--he was a madman who knew how to pander to the prejudice of the masses, how to blame the ills of society on one particular group-the Jews.

4. As I recall, there was one speech...
in the Reichstag, after he became Chancellor.

FDR had sent him a letter, asking him to guarantee
the borders (or neutrality?) of a number of small
European nations. Hitler ridiculed the letter to
laughter amongst the party faithful.

6. There was another speech too. Hitler was very good
at humorously malicious sarcasm. Bush could not match this. Hitler was reading a list of German parties seeking representation in the Reichstag and as he read on and into the smaller parties his tone caused the people to roar with laughter. Later on, of course, the NSDAP abolished all the other German parties.

Stalin also had this type of malicious wit as in "How many divisions has the Pope?" or taunting V.M Molotov over the treaty with Hitler several times to the western press saying to his foreign minister that "Look at all the trouble YOUR treaty with the Germans got us into." Bush couldn't match this sort of thing either.

5. Junior tries to be a little dictator...
Edited on Wed Dec-27-06 10:07 PM by TwoSparkles
We all know that Junior gets his narcissistic supply from behaving
as if he's a ruthless little dictator. Junior knew he could never
fill those big Oval office shoes--and engage in diplomacy and consensus building.

So, he decided to act like a jerk and be intentionally difficult and bullying.

Junior tries so hard to be scary and obtuse--because he loves to frighten the masses
and screw with people. It's all he's got--because the man lacks intelligence,
creativity and leadership skills.

Junior is doing his best to make us believe that he's big and bad like Hitler. So yes,
Junior is evil, and he's dangerous. However, the evil is more bungling and the danger
stems from the fact that he's an assclown--who doesn't know what the hell he is doing.

Junior is no Hitler. He's more like Dr. Evil---trying so hard to be super-scary evil
and ooga-booga spooky--but not quite pulling it off.

God help our nation!

7. This is a very astute well-considered response - one that actually
could make sense of Chimpy's ill behavior! Thank you for the thought provoke!

8. No one can insult Hitler by comparing him to anyone.
No one in history can match Hitler with his evil. His directly responsible for 45-50 million deaths in Europe through violence. That's a record no one can top.

9. And it's a record Bush must envy
Otherwise, why would he spend so much time and money trying to top it?

12. I don't honestly believe Bush is genocidal.
If he was, he would be much more efficient at killing than he is. With the full might of the U.S. military, he could have killed several million Iraqis by now. I think he kills people and simply doesn't care at all whether they die or not.

11. Yes, he is.
He's limited to Iraq and the carnage there will only be a small chapter in the catalog of human crime.
