"Borat" is a Kazakhstani comedian played by Sasha Baron Cohen

He portrays himself an idiot and lampoons western media and journalism (I think). He had his web site taken down by the Kazakhstan government who ironically claims: "There are no idiots in Kazakhstan."

Shades of Balki from "Perfect Strangers" with jokes like this:
"There is one singer called Shakira... sorry I laugh because in Kazakhstan this word means vagina. For example, 'Can I touch your shakira?' or 'I have seen your wife's shakira, it hangs like the mouth of a tired dog".

Something may be lost in translation with this one introducing "The Pussy Cat Dolls":
"Please prepare yourself for masturbation because next are international singing prostitutes, Pussy Cat Dolls".

I don't know, but maybe comedy is a uniquely American art.
