based on their present cowardly refusal to stand up as an opposition party -- most Democrats are missing the opportunity of a lifetime to mobilize the public support needed for victory. Moreover, Noam Chomsky says this is no accident:
http://www.workingforchange.com/article.cfm?ItemID=20106I desperately hope Chomsky is wrong, and I desperately hope I am wrong.
But the bitter truth is that the election is now only ten months away and there's not even a hint the party has begun to shed the shackles put on it by the Fifth Column betrayals of the Democratic Leadership Council. Contrast this to the Republifascists in 1993, already goose-stepping the length and breadth of the land, proudly marching to their song called "Contract on America"; the Democrats in comparison haven't even settled on a common theme, much less figured out how to beg forgiveness for their vicious DLC betrayals of the working class: NAFTA, CAFTA, re-imposition of indentured servitude disguised as "bankruptcy reform," genocide disguised as "welfare reform," the Medicare Prescription Drug Lord Benefit (which is doubling and tripling the prescription drug expenses of many seniors), etc. ad nauseum.
As I have said on other threads: if I could, I would leave the country, but I am too old.
