My conversation with a freeper today:

I was eating lunch with a friend and another lady I had never met. My friend is from New York and mentioned Hillary Clinton. She asked if I thought she was going to run for prez in 2008. I said well it's really too early to tell.

The other lady (the freeper) said to me "well, do you like her?"

I said "As a person or as a potential president?"

Freeper: "There's a difference?"

Me: "Sure there is. I admire her a great deal. I think she is brilliant. But I am not sure I want her to run for president."

Freeper: "Well, I can't stand her. Neither can my husband"

Me: "Why not?"

Freeper: "She has a lying scum for a husband."

Me: "So you don't like her because of what her husband did?"

Freeper: "He lied to her and to the American people. She apparently doesn't care if he lies."

Me: "I don't understand how you know what she thinks about what he did. I certainly don't remember her making any public statements about it."

Freeper: "Well, he's a liar. And part of the reason we are having so many problems with foreign countries today is because of his policies."

Me: "I saw on the news this morning that there are 100,000 people in India protesting against bush today. I didn't hear that any of them were mad at Clinton."

Freeper: "Well, Clinton is a fucking liar."

Me: "So I take it you think he was a bad president."

Freeper: "You got that right."

Me: "So if you are using lying as a criteria, then I gather you dislike bush as well."

Freeper: "That's not what I said."

Me: "But when I asked you why you didn't like Clinton, you said he was a liar. You admitted not liking his wife because HE is a liar. So I take it lying is an important sin in your book."

Freeper: "Well, Clinton lied."

Me: "So you must hate bush too since he lied us into war. You know no one died when Clinton lied. But so far, almost 2300 of our soldiers have died in Iraq. Do you know how many died on Clinton's watch?"

Freeper: "Well, I can't stand Hillary. I like McCain."

Me: "I am not surprised."

By this time, my friend was kicking me under the table. LOL

Logic apparently escapes freepers.

She made two points: Clinton lied and she likes McCain. That was the entire conversation on her end.

Talk about a koolaid drinker. LOL

And many women hate her for the same reason.

My favorite stupid-freeper conversation was about how evil Clinton was because of his actions, some bitch's brats learned about oral sex.

I said, naw, they learned about oral sex because the republicans had Starr hammer it home every night on tv.

I reiterate: freepers are stupid fucks.

She had every right to divorce him. It took guts to stay with him.

She had the personal betrayal, then the obscenely public airing of all the painful details (thanks, Ken Starr, choirboy-NOT) to deal with. Somehow she rose above it. Who knows how she really feels about it, or about Bill, for that matter, but I admire her not letting the sex-obsessed, hateful Republicans decide when her marriage was over.

Now, me, I would have kicked him out the door the minute I found out the truth, President or no -- and I like Bill. But I think Hillary has stuck it to the VRWC nicely, and perhaps has even rebuilt her marriage.

Not mine.

I admire her for staying with him. I would have kicked his ass from here to next Tuesday.

But, as you say, it's her business.

he would've really had to work to earn my trust again. But yes Hillary is someone to look up to female wise I think. Even if I disagree with her here and there.

And he didn't leave her either. They stuck it out together. I love that. And you can tell they really do care and admire each other from how they treat each other. Not only in public but private moments as well. Compare them to George and Laura.

I like Sen. Clinton. I like her policies. I don't think she can win a national election, however... BUT... it didn't take guts to stay with him. I think she loves him, but guts wasn't what it took.

My ex-husband cheated on me. And that's why he's my ex. It took more guts for me to kick his cheating ass out than it would have to simply live with that.

In any case, I enjoyed your conversation. I've had similar ones, although I always point out that only Republicans seem to want Hillary. Most Democrats I know want Wes Clark or Russ Feingold or Al Gore. ;)

P.S. I just read further and agree, whole-heartedly, that her marriage is HER business. Not mine. :hi:

I just stayed calm and gave her words right back to her. She was speechless more than once. My friend found me later and apologized for kicking me. She said it was an unfair debate; I out thought and outsmarted the freeper.

We were at a workshop. This freeper is a teacher, a special ed teacher. I walked away, shaking my head. I really wanted to ask her what bush had done and what she thought McCain would do for our kids.

I never can get over someone in our profession who is a freeper type. Have they not been kicked hard enough? Too hard? WTF?

It is mind boggling.

He is in the * cult. He used to sit over at my house and put on FAUX until I downgraded my satellite package and removed FAUX from the channels. Imagine his surprise when he turned to that channel and couldn't find it. He leaves when O'Reilly comes on because to him, O'Reilly tells it like it is.

You showed her, she did just like they usually do when they can't explain the logic, go on spin cycle and not respond to what you are saying.

It was really far too easy.

They tune in every day to find out how they are supposed to think.

They think as they are told and they've been told Hillary is bad for years and when their only talking points are Clinton, it's a dead give away they have no original thoughts in their head. They are the 21st century's 1930's German citizen. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE other than geography and time.

I don't like Hillary because she pulls to the right, but I acknowledge her ability and accomplishments. What kills me with asshats like these is that they can't stand Clenis for lying about getting blown on the sly, but lying to Congress, the American people and the world as justification to start a war is not only acceptable, but somehow defensible. I just want to shake them. Violently. For an extended period of time.

Both wonderful and v. disturbing. But I think encounters like this will ultimately have an impact in freepers' thinking. It's a slow, painful process for these people but eventually they're going to get it. Call me an optimist!

I love how this person kept saying she hated Hillary. And I've always wondered about their hate for her. It's simply amazing really. She used to be one of them (I wonder if they know that??) and she's never done anything to them but yet they hate her so much. And the great thing about Clinton is she doesn't give a damn but she'll still fight for them if she's their represenitive.

And they NEVER GET ANYWHERE. EVER. They never actually manage to convince anybody on the other side of their position by going round and round.

AND THEY STILL DO IT.

Because they HAVE no position, politics to them is exactly as meaningful as Star Trek is to Trekkies, those people who dress as Klingons, those people who dress as Republicans, it's the SAME THING.
