A tattered American flag lies in mud in the backyard of a destroyed house, December 2005 in St. Bernard Parish, Meraux, Louisiana. President George W. Bush and other top officials were given strong warnings about the potential devastation before Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans last year.(AFP/Getty Images/File/Ethan Miller)

3. I'm sorry but that looks "staged"
The exposed parts of the flag are still too white and bright.

And the dirt looks recently strewn.
