1. Thank you for posting these pics. I had hoped to see a few of the floats
mentioned in a news article someone here had posted a couple of days ago. The last pic though truly speaks volumes about their ability to triumph over adversity.

2. Thanks for these photos ClaraT, did you take them?
The expression in the horse's eyes really got to me--especially after realizing just how many undiscovered bodies there still are in the city.
I was lucky to live in New Orleans for a while years ago and remember it very fondly.
I admire all the people from all over the world who have come to pay homage and plan to go down myself soon to help with Habitat, or any other way I can.
I hope many others will do the same.

I'm happy for them that they found a way to express themselves during Mardi Gras.

I'm heartbroken they they had the need.

So painfully much death, destruction and suffering that was allowed to take place.

Those photos give a good idea of the satire and beauty at this year's Mardi Gras. Bless you, New Orleans, for showing your pride and love. Indeed, life does find a way.
