Imagine if we had * instead of FDR during WWII
:scared:

Here's what I think would've happened:

There would've been torture and even genocide at the Japanese internment camps
Bush would've invaded Iraq in response to Pearl Harbor
Or, more likely, he would've allied the US with the Germans, knowing his treasonous grandfather

What do you think?

Also, we would've applauded Germany's takeover of France - you know, those cheese-eating surrender monkeys :eyes:

17. We'd have attacked Costa Rica rather than Japan in retaliation....
for Pearl Harbor. Tojo and Admiral Yamamoto would be making taunting films and sending them to America to this day.

After nearly beating Costa Rica, AWOL/moron would jump in a PBY and land on a carrier declaring Mission Accomplished.

5. Since they have no oil, he wouldn't have bothered going after the Japanese
Edited on Thu Mar-02-06 01:28 PM by Crankie Avalon
...he would have blamed the Pearl Harbor attack on some country that did have oil and gone after them, instead.

6. there actually WERE some americans who wanted to join on hitler's side
mostly described as "german-americans", but i would bet that the shrubbies would be among them.

and why not? the only problem they seem to have with hitler was (a) he wasn't on our side, which would be fixed be joining on his side, and (b) that whole killing the jews thing, which wasn't officially known until very late in the war.

there's no doubt in my mind that shrub would have joined on hitler's side.

9. We'd be allied to Germany and Japan. Americans would be dying
on the Eastern front (Stalingrad) and bombing London (ouch). The upshot? We'd probably win the war anyway. Germans would get all of Europe, we would get all of eastern Soviet Union (Kazakhstan, Siberia) will all the natural gas supplies. There would be no communism to worry about, just a litle dictatorship of Father Emperor Bush here at home. If we did lose the war, because of the genius strategery of the Father Emperor Bush, we'd be speaking Russian today, and the computers would have Cyrillic symbols on the keyboard.

11. We would have attacked South Africa, left Europe to be a burning ruin,
completely ignored and forgotten the Japanese, started a civil war in Brazil, and the Great Depression would have gotten so bad, that 100 million Americans would have died of starvation and dysentary by 1945, and * would have taken (assuming he served 12 years like FDR) 5 years of total vacation time, and WPA would never have existed, so our entire infrastructure would have deteriorated so bad that St. Thomas would have seen its chance to take us over.

12. What if England had had Chimpy instead of Churchill?
Chimpy would have been briefed about the desperate need to evacuate Dunkirk, but wouldn't have asked any questions and would have only cared about not disrupting his vacation. "No one could have anticipated the capture and destruction of our stranded army."

16. Gosh, have you been channeling George Will?
The Houston Chronicle printed his latest piece today.

Waiting for Bush to sound like the Churchill of 1940

By GEORGE F. WILL

When late in the spring of 1940 people of southeastern England flocked across the Channel in their pleasure craft and fishing boats to evacuate soldiers trapped on Dunkirk beaches, euphoria swept Britain. So Prime Minister Winston Churchill sternly told the nation: "We must be very careful not to assign to this deliverance the attributes of a victory. Wars are not won by evacuations."

Or by curfews, such as the one that cooled the furies that engulfed Iraq after the bombing last week of a Shiite shrine. Wars are not won simply by facing facts, but facing them is a necessary prerequisite.

Today, with all three components of the "axis of evil" — Iraq, Iran, North Korea — more dangerous than they were when that phrase was coined in 2002, the country would welcome, and Iraq's political class needs to hear, as a glimpse into the abyss, presidential words as realistic as those Britain heard on June 4, 1940.

So here in the United States we toned it down a bit and called it the GOP.
