our ability to even dare to dream of a better life?

How can people even think about getting ahead these days? It's no use saving for that dream vacation; gas prices go up....hell, if the dog has to go to an emergency vet---there goes that money. Going to the dentist is getting out of reach for the middle class.

It's sad as hell.

1. I don't think they are dead yet....
It is true that most people are holding on for dear life due to the screwups by the * cabal...

But I believe the true American spirit is always there....we will triumph over this debacle of the last 5 years....

the cost is going to be very high though.....

2. Actually, if you read Kurt Vonngeut & others
American Dreaming of a better world, as it were, may never have been greater than during the depression.

Hi, Steph :hi: . I hope you and Michael are doing well.

The simple fact of the matter is that I don't know if there has ever been a time when so few believed the world they were leaving to their children would be a better one. Particularly since that genuine feeling has bee appropriated and abused by the Busheviks, turned into a chep lie like the rest.

The Imperial Subjects of Amerika have been psychologically engineered, more or less, into a slavish people awaiting fetters. Dreams are superfluous to obeying the Leader and Party, so it is not encouraged.

Except as cheap lies and window dressing by Tyrants.

Anyway, I don't mean to dis you, but from what I have read about the Depression, Free Americans were still free.

Not like THIS travesty of a New America (TM) that has come and will shortly be getting worse.

6. yes. look at this online poll
http://www.kirotv.com/family/7608999/detail.html

A majority of people would go back to this job. They expect the government to side with Mr. Potter and against George Bailey. And they're right. Workers have come to expect so little protection out of their government. That's where we're at.
