Faux news poll: Approval rating down to 39% (and this is a Faux poll)
For only the second time of his presidency, the poll finds that President Bush’s overall job approval rating has fallen below 40 percent — today 39 percent of Americans say they approve and a 54 percent majority disapproves. Late last year the president’s approval hit a record-low of 36 percent (8-9 November 2005).

This is also one of only a handful of times that Bush's approval has dropped below 80 percent among Republicans. Today 77 percent of Republicans approve, down from 82 percent in early February. Disapproval among Democrats went from 79 percent in early February to 84 percent today. Approval among independents is essentially unchanged at 35 percent.

The port controversy, along with the situation in Iraq (fully 81 percent of Americans think it is likely Iraq will end up in a civil war), appears to be taking a toll on Republicans.

8. 16% of "Democrats" and 23% of "Republicans" need to switch parties
If you still support Little Lord Pissypants at this point, you should in no way consider yourself a Democrat. And the 23% of Republicans disapproving need to switch to Democrat.

5. Wasn't there just a poll that...
...put his approval rating at around 34 percent? I'm convinced that it's actually in the 20 percent range by now. Not that Fox would ever tell you that.

6. Yes, BUT...
Some enterprising faux news host will properly point out that if you take the 3.5% margin or error, double that figure, and add it to the 39%, you see that Our Great Leader really has a 46% favorability rating. And, since democrats' and non-christian independents' opinions do not matter, you may ignore their response, leaving the President with a comfortable 89% approval rating among the Merican people.

10. Better Yet....
If you take the 39% and add Triple the 3.5% margin of error, then King george's rating is actually above 50%.

It's called the Diebold margin of error.

11. Fine Brit, then Bush's overall approval could be as low as 27%
and his handling of the war at 23%.

Brit, every day, you are looking more and more like the 'constipated mathematician' who works it out with his pencil.
