6. New video! Key video of key state officials.....he said Bush was engaged
(on video) Brown is on the video trying to get people to understand the seriousness of Katrina.

The NOAA weatherman? had stated the levees may be "topped" not breached...LIKE THAT MATTERS?

Dana Milbanks is on now. He says each one of these things is doing damage to Bush. The Katrina, Ports deal, Iraq, ect....

No one could have anticipated that the Katrina tapes would be released. The tapes were sitting in NEWSROOMS for the last 6 months!?:grr:

15. They were under the short leg on the table that holds the "honoraria"
The bush* sent all those that "tabled" the tapes. I guess The bush* must have missed last months payments and they dug them out since they didn't have to count all those twenty's and what do ya know, there's actual NEWS on the motherfuckers! No one could have anticipated The bush* would actually RECORD his own dumbassery.

21. Sitting on shelves waiting for the right time?
 Who the hell knows why they do what they do? The corporate propaganda MSM is useless. I "think" they may be seeing the error of their ways for the last 5+ years and are trying to redeem themselves by releasing more info, confronting the WH and asking more pointed questions, BUT IT'S TOO LATE. The country is too far gone.:(

5. ON a similar note
I wish KO would devote more of his hour to important issues. By the time he gets to number one hes lost me. Usually the number four and five issues are what Im looking for and the higher in the countdown he goes, the less relevant the stories become.
IMO only.

10. the gop has just ensured that the gulf coast will NEVER vote....
for them again.

Talk about pissed off! I live in a military community and they are all really angry and NOT going to reenlist. Or vote for the GOP ever.

Bush is an incompetent employee. GOP biz fires such people. So does DEM biz.

13. I think the Countdown format is: #1 is the least important story
and 5 is the most important.

I can't remember if it was always that way, but you'll notice that nowadays #1 is usually human interest fluff.

16. Yeah, that's the whole idea.
The farther along the show goes, the less important the stories are. #5 is always the top most important story and it always comes first.

17. That makes no sense.
You got it all backwards.

One is number one. 5 is the fifth most important

Countdown does begin the show with the #5 story, which is hard news and the top story of the day. Usually there's about 15 minutes of solid news, then a commercial break. There's some Oddball fluff & top 3 Newsmakers and around the half-hour mark they start the #3 story, which is sometimes hard news but more often semi-solid news and lasts about 10 minutes. Then #2, which is celebrity news :boring: and the #1 story which is human interest stories -- the amount of "interest" is variable.

Yes, it's not like a traditional news broadcast in that the "top story" isn't called "#1", but I'm getting more news content along with the humor. If nothing else, Olbermann actually lets the people he interviews finish answering their questions which is appallingly rare these days. Even rarer, KO's followup questions are true followups and not somebody's talking points. For that, I can deal with a goofy numbering shtick. It kinda grows on you.

11. If I remember correctly the Administration .....
stonewalled releasing any tapes when the original Katrina investigation was going on ..... under the guise of national security or some other lame excuse they always use .... whatever. Whenever it works to their advantage to deceive. Peace again.
