Horowitz Versus Rectenwald - Tonight! 02 March 2006 Citizens For Legitimate Government Founder and Chair, Michael Rectenwald, Ph.D., will appear on MSNBC's 'Scarborough Country,' and debate David Horowitz. The topic: Teacher caught in Bush "rant" 02 Mar 2006 An Overland High School (CO) teacher who criticized President (sic) Bush, capitalism and U.S. foreign policy during his geography class was placed on administrative leave Wednesday afternoon after a student who recorded the session went public with the tape. The show airs at 10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PST, and re-airs at 2 a.m./11 p.m.

1. I don't think public school teachers are allowed to do that

My mother taught in California and it was a violation of state law for teachers to be engaging in partisan politics on school grounds.

Maybe the topics he covered were not appropriate for a geography class, though we don't know what subjects he was covering, so I'm not sure. At the worst, though, this was not an offense that warranted a suspension. In fact, the teacher was respectful to students' questions and opinions, including those that expressed a critical view. That's what's most important to me as teacher.

Perhaps another reason why liberals like us should start forming our own private schools.

And the tape may have been an illegal use of a recording device.

The teacher is not participating in partisan politics. He is trying to meet Colorado's requirement in geography that students consider alternate viewpoints in different places.

On a related note, why is Joe "the dead intern in my office" Scarborough on TV anyway? Seems that a woman found dead from a blow to the head might be a negative, eh?

In 2004, filmmaker Michael Moore registered the domain JoeScarboroughKilledHisIntern.com.

Three years earlier, on July 20, 2001, Lori Klausutis, one of Scarborough's aides, was found dead in his Fort Walton Beach, Florida office.

Police found no evidence of foul play and her death was the result of a previous medical condition.

Moore believed Scarborough was involved in a documentary critical of Moore called Michael Moore Hates America.
