On AAR: Students walk out of class re teacher laid off for Bush rant

Did anyone else hear this? They were protesting. Hearing it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Our youth aren't fooled and they give a damn!

Said that the protest was comprised of both sides of the issue.

Anyone have any clarification on what the real facts are?

they probably just wanted to get out of class for awhile.

Most of today's kids are uninformed and lazy.

Once, when I was in high school, we had a cold snap right at the beginning of fall. It was close to forty degrees in the school's halls, and everyone was wearing coats.

Apparently, the heating system was tied up into that of two other schools that were all geographically basically on the same campus. The heating was piped over via hot water... AFTER going through the other two schools first. We didn't know that when our protest started; most of the high school student body walked out of class to do an impromptu sit-in in front of the office.

As I understand it, not many years after, the high school got its own heating system.

The only day I can recall students just not showing up for school en masse is the traditional "senior skip day", when all the seniors take the day off and go do something as a group.

And finally, why is it that I see more adults taking days off work than I ever did students taking days off school?

HUNDREDS OF ANGRY STUDENTS walked out in support of their teacher's right to call Bush incompetent. KMGH News guy said "a handful" showed up in support of the student who complained.

Sometimed I think America is going to be ok.
