proposed: wittington's apology proves cheney shot him ON PURPOSE

we've all been flabbergasted at the apparent power of the right wing that can lead someone to apologize for getting accidentally shot in the face.

i have a more simple explanation: cheney shot wittington on purpose.

now, he might have been tipsy or just plain drunk, and it might well have been a snap "decision" or instinct reaction. i'm not saying the whole thing was premeditated. :tinfoilhat:, but not :tinfoilhat::tinfoilhat::tinfoilhat::tinfoilhat:.


but think about it. if cheney shot wittington ON PURPOSE, that means that cheney was, at least for a moment, angry at wittington, which implies that wittington did SOMETHING to anger cheney. what was that something? who knows, maybe he asked cheney to resign, asked him for too much of a favor, refused to make yet another big contribution, insulted his wife, tried to blackmail him, who knows. my tin foil hat theory doesn't require any particular action or any particular nature. all it requires is that wittington did SOMETHING that got cheney angry.

THAT would be something that would make you apologize.

think tony soprano. if tony soprano shot me accidentally, i'd still say, "dude, what'd i do?" but if he shot me ON PURPOSE, i'd say ANYTHING, i'm sorry for WHATEVER I DID, PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME AGAIN!"

doesn't that make a whole lot more sense than wittington "and my family" apologized to cheney simply out of continued loyalty to someone who accidentally shot him in the face, caused a heart attack, and nearly killed him???

This story has disappered since the ports deal broke, but we need to emphasize that every time we can. He was shot Friday, but received no medical care until Sat. night.

Did Cheney's medical staff treat him on Friday and then decided that he had to be in a hospital for advanced treatment?

what happened. Whittington also notes how IMPORTANT prompt medical care is for a man his age (a subtle dig?) But nobody seems to really care about this story anymore, so there probably won't be more investigation. We'll probably never know what really went down there.

Remember, Whittington took his quail back to the car and Armstrong was supposed to take her turn to join the hunting party but she sent Harry back out. It was when Harry was returning to join the hunting party that he was shot. Maybe Cheney was gunning for Armstrong and was surprised that Whittington got it instead.

i have to say i understand perfectly well why whittington apologized and suspect i would have done the same in his shoes

they are friends, they were drinking (one beer at lunch, my ass, ossifer!), and whittington could have just as well been the one who screwed up and shot cheney, there's a little bit of the "it could have been me" in the situation, and you just know that the other guy feels terrible and is thinking over and over in his mind if only there was a way to take it back

accidents are like that, you think of ways to blame yourself if only to give back to yourself the illusion of control

It was a rash decision, but he was kinda drunk and had a ME KILL ALL ANIMALS adrenaline going. After all, not only did Whittington tell him "no," he also made a crack about his lezbo wife and daughter.... "GO FUCK YOURSELF HARRY!" – CRACKPOW!!! ... "OH, I'm sorry Harry!
