Rasmussen (right-wing pollster) has * approval at 41% today.
Saturday March 04, 2006--Only forty-one percent (41%) of American adults now approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Just 19% Strongly Approve, while 41% Strongly Disapprove.

Last October 28th, the President's Approval dipped to 40%. Other than that single day, today's reading is the lowest Job Approval Rating ever recorded for President Bush by Rasmussen Reports.

The President's support has fallen to 70% among Republicans. For most of his time in office, his support among the GOP has been in the high 80's.

Rasmussen Reports has released an Election 2006 Preview addressing the political implications of the President's declining poll numbers. The Preview notes that "the situation in Iraq has given the Democrats the opportunity to regain majority status in Congress; the Dubai ports issue has provided a rallying point; and, the President has lost the initiative on his signature issue." Visit the Rasmussen Reports Election Polls page to see results from our most recent state-by-state polling for Election 2006.

1. Sounds about right. Seems like 40% would agree with him no matter what.
Jon Stewart mentioned this also with his interview the other night with Larry King. Jon said exactly what I always thought.

Jon said he believed chimps support would never go below 40%.

If you notice all of the polls that are taken, no matter how negative it reflects on chimps policies, there seems to always be a 40% no matter what the issue.

It seems solid, but now I think that it can and will fluctuate by as much as 8%. In other words, Its not as solid as once thought.

2. Subtract 10 pts from Rasmussen and even more from Gallop. Inherent bias in
their polls. Which would make it 31%, which truly is about right.

9. Rasmussen always places Bush's poll numbers higher than
anyone else. I always check their figures anyway because they combine three days worth of data for each poll and that makes it easier to see a trend. On 2/19 his approval rating was 49%, according to Rasmussen, and has been going down since then. Quite a trend, huh.

Only forty-one percent (41%) of American adults now approve of the way George W. Bush

That's adding BOTH categories of approval. 'some what' and 'strongly'.

The total number of Strongly disapprove is 41%

His support is really weak. Those that oppose, strongly oppose. I suppose there is some weighting factor that could be used.

Another way to look at it: For than twice as many strongly disapprove as those that strongly approve.

I think Ras is doing a good job but his layered answers tend to make the high level results look better for the pres. The info is there... in the strength of approve/disapprove.

7. Yeah, my dad is a closet Repug and he told me a few months ago that chimps
approval was going back up. The fact of the matter was that there was an up tic of about 3%.

The problem for my dad however was that we were previously discussing how the press misinformed the American People on the lead up to the Iraq war. He totally agreed with me on that point.

I told him, Well now, the press lied on the lead up to Iraq, How can trust their reporting now. Of course, he was silent.

8. Now the good news. As chimps poll numbers goes down, the msm will feel
more empowered to report the truth about this horrible adminstration. This is history repeating itself folks.

Look at what happened in Vietnam. The truth about the war was already there, the msm just did not report it.

As Johnsons numbers went down, reporters started reporting the truth about it. I,m starting to see the same string of events going on here.
