NORM: Nugent sticks to his gun on VH1 set
Gun enthusiast Ted Nugent won a showdown with a VH1 film crew assistant director the other day.

Nugent, in town for the filming of VH1's "Supergroup" reality show, walked onto the set early this week exercising his right to bear arms.

The startled assistant director asked the rocker to remove the holstered firearm from the active set, citing safety concerns.

Nugent, 57, stuck to his guns (gun), and the AD has not been seen on the set since, I'm told.

Reached at VH1 in New York on Friday, spokeswoman Michelle Clark said Nugent "has a license to be a firearm carrier no matter where he might be. I'm sure he wasn't waving it around."

1. No place of work would normally allow this.
He only "won" this "showdown" because he's a "celebrity".

Reality shows are the meat and potatoes of has-beens.

3. What can you say about the "Nuge" that hasn't been said?
He is an egotistical, draft-dodging, child moelsting, moron. I grow so tired of his antics, as well as his fake teeth, on his televison show. I am repulsed watching his 15-year old son and his friends complete with zits, Black Sabbath T-shirts, and adolescent excuberance fire fully automatic M-16's on his show.

I get tired of watching his wife put on too much makeup and hair dye to cover up the damage that sun bathing has done to her skin. I am so disgusted watching her wear too little clothes that show off her silicon-enhanced, middle-aged titties to any and all who would look. Someone needs to tell her that middle aged heavy metal groupies are not that appealing.

I love to hunt and to fish. I like guns. Ted appeals to a certain portion of gun owners who probably should not own guns in the first place. I know up here in Alaska, he is not well-liked among hunters for many of the reasons I just posted above, plus his affinity for shooting animals behind chain-link.

Those of us who sleep with the grizzlies and wolves and must carry moose quarters weighing over 100 lbs on our back miles back to camp just to earn our meat, have little respect for a man like Ted.

4. "No matter where he might be." Right.
So, if he were getting on an intercontinental flight, he'd be allowed to bring the gun on board, right? Or if he were visiting the White House, I'm sure the secret service would say, "Oh, no, he has a license." Give me a break.

6. For that matter, what about a dance club? Or a school? Or a sports event.
What an idiot. . . if you're going to make a statement, make sure you're not wrong first, Ted.
