of all-things-media, couple concise pieces way back when, a book, and he begins to cheap shot everybody else for not using the right 'word' here, or there; couple weeks ago = Steven Colbert!!! have you heard? by Kurtz's reckon he is too hoity toity.

this week Colbert comes back!!

last week, while some would agree, Anderson Cooper. picking three specious examples out of dozens of other pieces to prove yet another lame Howard Kurtz, potentate-ish point. not into Howard Kurtz as a hallmark of American Journalism, unless it is to suggest him as a contributer to it's homogenized downfall x(

Howey, you are an inside dog these days, can't recall you, if ever it's been so long; standing in the midst of human sorrow telling anyone just what is really going on.

3. He postures as an ombudsman but acts like an apologist.
He's mildly sacrcastic and dismissive of critiques, tending to demean them on the narrowest of trivializations. His underlying theme seems to be that the poor media "can't get no respect." In this way, he's the Rodney Dangerfield of the corporate P/R media - a joke.
