FreeRepublic irrelevance?
Is FreeRepublic, the tool of the Koolaid drinkers, now irrelevant? Consider the following, during the heyday of this group of insane men and women led by a crippled, angry man, they used to be able to drum up their funding in a relatively short period of time. Now that many of them are waking up from their stupor they are literally begging for cash. Meanwhile, in the last funding drive, Democratic Underground was able to garner 1200 donations in record time.

I think FreeRepublic, like their idolized criminals, is tasting the last of the ditch liquor and will soon be a weird footnote in cyberspace history.

2. I think....
...once the Democrats regain the majority and the Presidency and put the teeth back in the IRS to investigate sham groups Mr. RimJob and his whole filthy crew are going to spend a great deal of time in court.

15. It might be worth a donation just for the entertainment value alone.
Seriously, I have lurked over there for the last 1 1/2 years or so and have seen some changes in the overall tone of the threads and posters. I have noticed that a lot of the more logical and reasoned members seem to have been replaced by homophobes, religious zealots, racists and worse. Logic is a rare commodity and many of them have apparently imbibed a little too heavily of the kool-aid.

3. It's relevant in that certain freepers have been involved in important
events.

"Buckhead" of "Memogate"

Jerome Corsi, Swiftboat ghost author

I believe Gannon/Guckert.

This I think makes it likely that Rove has picked out sites like Drudge and fr to do things like float rumors etc.

I do think the membership by and large is a joke, but these "insiders" from there make me believe there is a specific, if limited, role that this site is chosen for and used for.

6. I bet their fundraising appeals are a sham
Just like the fund raising drive Radio Free Europe used to have - they actually got all their money from the CIA, the public fund raising was a sham.

I wouldn't be surprised if FR was covertly funded by some deep-pocket RW outfits, and that the online appeals are for show.

a lot of shitass websites, as well as Repub campaigns, with a lot still left over for shiny silver Mercedes!

8. Why not start your own right-wing website, collect deep-pocket money, and
then close down the website?

I wouldn't be surprised if FR was covertly funded by some deep-pocket RW outfits, and that the online appeals are for show.

10. Not be persnickety or nothing, but....
I really don't give a fuck that RimJob is "crippled." That has no bearing on whether I agree with his views or the views of his Army of Walking Dead Shitswabs. And his handicap is the LAST thing we should use in attacking him, since that's pretty fucking low.

I'll make fun of his "crippled" brain and "handicapped" conscience, but I won't make fun of the dude just ciuz he's in a wheelchair. There are some insults even *I* won't stoop to when flinging turds at the Freeper Fuhrer. And out of respect to all the OTHER handicapped people out there, who AREN'T fucked up Nazi sympathizers, who AREN'T willing dupes for Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Adolph Coors, who AREN'T destroying the country they purport to love, who AREN'T absolute pieces of dogshit in the shape of a human being, I say it's about time RimJob worked with liberal activists in pushing for the rights of the handicapped, since it does effect him and all.

That is all.

11. No surprise membership is down: FR webpage format sucks donkey dick
I never visit FR, not so much because of the knee-jerk freeper troglodytes there, but because the page format IS SO INCREDIBLY POOR ...makes it impossible to follow any conversation. In that regard, DU is the best site I've found for supporting discussion, and whips FR like a rented mule.

17. If DU had a subforum for people who were banned from the rest of DU
then would it be more popular than FR?

Doesn't the entire FR discussion board remind you of one little part of DU: the Israel/Palestine Topic Forum?

31. I was just joking about the subscription part... Increased revenue for DU
...would result from advertising assoc with increased traffic through the DU website - I suspect you were already thinking along the same lines.

Honestly, it might just be a good idea for Skinner to reapply the format that works so well here to other discussion forums/sites...

25. All you get is boilerplate language on the posts over there.
They believe if they repeat things often enough, that they will be true. Just like Scotty Mc Snotty. Freepers post away to try and convince each other that it's OK to kid themselves and feel good about their f'ed up agenda. Bottom line is, if you use enough big words, invoke the word "rather" or "quite" frequently, and call at least one person a bad name in each post, you will win the hearts and minds of your friends at FR.

14. Once Gannon left, it was all down hill.
It was the gay prostitution traffic that kept the money flowing.

And, these days, the only place to find a male, homosexual, Republican prostitute is to show up at a Scottie briefing and wait your turn.

I never know how the single-issue racist religious-wingnut voters are going to vote until I have visited.

It's also fun to troll, from time to time, until you get banned AGAIN.

23. That's why I kept the term broad....
...crippled refers to his handicapped way of thinking. Come to think about it, RimJob should be the last person to scream "personal responsibility" considering that he should be fighting for VA benefits given his physical condition.

And used in a literal sense, at that.

As ugly as freepers can be on the inside, I won't go after them on the basis of physical disability.
