Poll question: Regarding Jar Head the movie.

Did you personally like the movie?

I liked Full Metal Jacket. (And I don't mean that I like the events that took place, seeing how they more than likely were real case scenarios) The random activities, and the hardships of being a soldier that it shows, really made me like it.

It wasn't what I expected, but it did do a pretty good job in my opinion.

"Jarhead" IS "Full Metal Jacket: The Next Generation." Also "All Quiet On The Western Front," "Boys In Company C," "The Odd Angry Shot," and ten other movies we've already seen. Yes, the acting is first-rate, but the screenplay is a clichefest with no new ideas. It's only redeeming quality was, after all the hoo-rah hogwash of recent years, at least it is an old-fashioned, All-American ANTI-war movie the way they used to make 'em before Yellow Ribbon Fever rotted everybody's brain 15 years ago.

Now we have to wait until August to see what Clint and Steve have done with "Flags of Our Fathers."
