Monopolies: The other law BushCo is breaking
Edited on Thu Mar-09-06 10:08 PM by linazelle
Antitrust laws are being broken right and left under Bush. The recent rejoining of "Ma Bell" sets them up to become the next vehicle for domination of access to the internet. The tolls we have been hearing about lately cannot be far behind as they are poised to become the Walmart of telecommunications services.

The lure of cheap prices can't be beat. But the long term ramifications are threatening. Once they've suckered everybody into buying their "packages" for phone, television, and internet services, the competition will disappear and prices will rise.

I wish people would pay more attention to who they are buying from rather than prices alone.

1. I work in Telecommunications...
And I am living it...Every time they merge they lay off a ton of people...it is a monopoly....

The consumers are too stupid because they are starry eyed over the new gadgets......and pricing...

Competition is being eliminated every time one of these mega mergers occur, opportunites for small businesses are being eliminated....the pundits talk it up as if it is good thing...

If the Dems don't get back in power and install regulation of these industries....you are right the long term impact is going to be detrimental to this country.
