The "Deal" is dead... long live The Deal!

Does anyone here believe that UAE is completely out of this one? Are the records still going to be warehoused overseas and out of the reach of our courts? Is Dubai a big stockholder of the "American" company poised to take over? Is this new deal just for the big 6 ports? ..........or also for the mysterious other 15?

Now that Corpomedia has declared "problem solved", are the curious +/or enraged Repugs satisfied, like FOX wants them to be?

When will we get some genuine information on the "fix"?.............. (developing)

there is definitely something rotten in this whole thing.

I haven't seen so much as a mini-nugget of information yet...

it seems they were out of it too easily, so I think there is much more to the deal and we are not being told. The Bushes and their partners would not give in without some underhanded deal going on.

who is qualified, they will sell the ports to them. I may take a couple decades to find a buyer. The deal went through. This is one really confusing mess. Also, apparently it was 21 docks at 6 ports.

I think they are finding an American subcontractor to operated them... The money will still go to UAE, and (I'll bet) the records stay in Dubai, away from the American judicial system.. or what's left of it..

What's the point of finding an American subcontractor? They could still "do evil" anytime they wanted to. So * got what he wanted but looks like he lost?

And they are pushing it like crazy all around the dial... A Big. Fat. Case. of "move along, nothing to see here"

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- A United Arab Emirates government-owned company is poised to take over port terminal operations in 21 American ports, far more than the six widely reported.

The Bush administration has approved the takeover of British-owned Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co. to DP World, a deal set to go forward March 2 unless Congress intervenes.

P&O is the parent company of P&O Ports North America, which leases terminals for the import and export and loading and unloading and security of cargo in 21 ports, 11 on the East Coast, ranging from Portland, Maine to Miami, Florida, and 10 on the Gulf Coast, from Gulfport, Miss., to Corpus Christi, Texas, according to the company's Web site.
