Poll question: How strong is the hatred for Hillary here?
Yes, this a serious poll.

If she were running in '08.

Perhaps we have more pressing matters to attend to?

I'll apply for political asylum in Barbados, thank you, because that means at least another four years under a Republican President.

4. I don't hate her; I think she's a pretty fair Senator for the State of NY,
in which I don't live. But I really, really don't want her to be the Dem nominee in '08; she should stay in the Senate.

6. I don't hate her at all.
She would not be my first choice, but my reason is that I would like to see someone with a different last name than Clinton or Bush in the White House. However, if she does get the nomination, I will vote for her.

7. Voting 3rd party is what the Rethugs want
Leave your egos at the door and grow up people. If she is nOminated, and you vote against her, McCain wins and the world will come to an end.

MARK MY WORDS.

13. Pffft. How is McCain any different from Hillary?
What - they differ on a couple of social issues?

They're both pro-corporate-march-to-fascism.

keep the thugs in office. We need TWO, repeat TWO branches of government, one being the White House. And if you children could get your attitude out of your asses, maybe we won't have another stolen election again.

24. Seems like what the DLC wants.
They keep running part-time Democrats who vote with the Republicans and then rely on the "not as bad" mantra to bamboozle the people into thinking they have no choice.

Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 08:37 PM by impeachdubya
She's not my first, second, third, fourth, or even twentieth pick at this point. But if she's the nominee, I will of course support her.

Edit: For the record, I don't "hate" her, at all. I *used* to LIKE her a helluva lot more than I do now, but I don't 'hate' her. "Hating" her and thinking her pandering on shit like Iraq make her totally unfit for the 2008 nomination are two totally diff. things.

10. I don't hate her at all
I just don't think she can win. If I thought she could win, I'd support her now. I won't vote for her in the primary, but if she gets the nomination, I will support her with all my heart. I just hope whoever we get can win -- we CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE AGAIN!

30. NO, I hate HILLARY
Has nothing to do with any DNC, DLC bullshit. Some DLC people are quite decent, like Howard Dean and Al Gore. Others have lost their friggin' minds. Hillary, she's a piece of work unto herself. Still, I'd support her if she were the candidate because there Republican foreign AND domestic policies are as different from Democrats as Democrats are different from Greens.

Because I make a concerted effort not to do that to anyone. But I wouldn't vote for her.

I wonder if this means 30% of DUers will get tombstoned in 2008?

21. Why scream HATRED? Why not address the reasons
other posters have that she can't win?

If somebody can argue against the reasons set out ad nauseum why a Hillary Clinton presidential candidacy would be a disaster, I'd love to see it.

However, pointing fingers and accusing reasoned posters of HATRED doesn't do anything but disgrace the finger pointer.

22. It will be a disaster because many so-called "progressives"
would rather we spin into total Fascism under the Thugs than take the government back from them.

God the 26% of you who think voting 3rd party as a protest are so blind.

DON'T YOU SEE WHAT THE CONSERVATIVES HAVE DONE TO THIS COUNTRY AND THE WORLD? CAN YOU LIVE WITH NEVER-ENDING WAR AND OPPRESSION???

Simple. Fight to overthrow the Reich Wing or find something else to do.

And if that means supporting HC, and you can't bring yourself to do that, resign as a Liberal and join the other side.

These next two elections are for the survival of our Constitution and Liberty, and if you think attacking our own is going to help change the current status quo, vote Republican.

Who can run against her? None. Want Bill back behind the scenes? Bet none of you have even thought of that. Nah, she is unfit in your pure eyes.

Go to Washington, bow to your leader now, because his minions will still be there in 2009.

29. Hillary voted
For the war. I cannot support her. I will note vote lock step just because she's a Dem, and she has way too much baggage. I think she too risky a candidate. She cannot win in the South, and I don't think she really can win IMO even though she is the favorite nominee.

32. And that is the basic problem with nominating ANY senator now!
Voting records get dissected and issues taken out of context on any number of bills.

One way or another, their voting record will be held against them and that gives too much to the opposition. The way bills and amendments are written and added to, Senators have to swallow too many poison pills and make too many compromises. Then, when they run for higher office, issues get taken out of context of the whole bill they were added to and made out as evidence of poor judgment.

Welcome to DU goreo8.

34. Then we lose
either get behind our candidate or get out. There is no second chance this time. We lost in 1994, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, and if you are satisfied, when they come knockng on your door to take you away, you'll have no noe to complain to.
