1. Good Lord, what a happy birthday

for the cousin, for the kids there that saw the little girl killed, let alone for the girl who died.

It is like living in a war zone in some places. Kids in war and the crime zones (and who knows where)see much too much, much too soon.

3. Yup, seems not a week goes by I don't hear about...

somebody getting shot this way. There was much talk a while ago by some black leaders that far more police protection is needed in the 'hood than in the quiet white neighborhoods, but I haven't heard much about that lately. Except for some bullshit about linking street gangs to terrists.

But, hey, we're in Iraq so no Ay-rab is gonna be shooting up our streets.
