But, no way in hell would I vote for Hillary in a primary. I'd have to vote for her if she's the nominee. It's almost like voting for Bush in a skirt.

malleable, I think Russ is worth a closer look. If he shows continuing courage against the current regime, he has my vote!

But knowing what I know right now, Russ Feingold would be my pick -- if Al Gore isn't given the opportunity to assume the office to which he was rightfully elected in 2000.

who would strive for peace, the resolution could have been effective. In fact it was to the degree that it helped persuade Iraq to allow inspectors in, along with the UN vote.

That really did need to happen, not because it was likely he had weapons but he needed to start cooperating so the sanctions could end up being lifted.

Of course it wasn't what bush had in mind. He broke the terms of the congressional agreement, that doesn't exonerate anyone who voted for it. He was clearly not a great president worthy of trust, clearly was not striving for peace. They had to know that. Many were still voting out of fear of looking weak but it only made them show they were weak.

Heres' why:

We can decry the effect of the media and its republican control all we like, BUT we cannot ignore the fact that all of these candidates would not get a fair shake, for all the obvious reasons..

Feingold might get the fairest treatment, BUT as much as we hate the idea of it, there are a LOT of anti-semites in the country, and with all the turmoil in the middle east, a jewish president at this particular time in history could be thorny issue.

The groundwork on Hillary was done while she was first lady, and even though SHE did nothing wrong, the drumbeat of vile coverage, day in and day out, will dog her forever. The powers that be, probably KNEW that she had aspirations beyond first lady, and all the memes are out there in the public already.. She will have the money, but offering her as the candidate only increases the divide, and encourages the rightwing sealots to NOT sit out the election.

Gore can never recover from the 2000 debacle. To many people (maybe most) he appeared timid, and let junior's gang steamroller over him. He actually had little control over it, but the democrats who should have stepped up to "protect and encourage" him were practically AWOL. I doubt that they have come to support him anymore in the intervening years. He is more help to the "cause" by being OUTSIDE, and by assuming the role of elder statesman.. He could not take the 2ns spot, and I don;t think he has the support or the money to run for top ticket. I think Tipper would agree. Right now he is positioned in history as the "man who had the election stolen from him", and the horrific terms that followed the theft, will only make him dearer as the "president who should have been"..

Kucinich first. I'd be happy with a G/K, K/G, K/F, or F/K ticket.

They're records are proven, they always stand up in the clinches, that's what I'm looking for. Maybe he should have chosen Feingold for VP, we wouldn't have had to worry so much about those northern states and could have focused on OH, FL & MO, the states Edwards was supposed to deliver.

After that, it's a toss-up at this point between Russ Feingold and Kerry. NO WAY would I vote for Hillary Clinton in the primary, and in the general election only with great reluctance (because the Repuke candidate would be even worse). She supported the IWR and to my knowledge has shown no regrets.

I would vote for Feingold and/or Gore. In my opinion they are both great on the issues. In addition, they are both willing to stand up to the Republicans. At this point I am tired of Democrats who do not want to stand up for Democratic ideas. I do not want to support Democrats who try to kiss to the Republicans. Now I want to support Democrats who are willing to give an alternative to the people of the United States.

I will not vote for Hillary unless she is the Democratic Party's nominee. In my opinion she is trying to kiss up to the Republicans in order to run for President and win the election.

I want Clark!

How about Mark Warner or Evan Baye? They are who I'd vote for in the primary.

After all, he already has.

However, I'd vote for any of them in the general election.
