Can someone explain to me the Zogby polls and the questions

about NASCAR that are on all of them? Do I consider myself a NASCAR fan (or however it's worded)?

What does that have to do with anything? I've been curious for quite some time but the curiousity has gotten so strong that I just have to ask.

and the significance of whether or not i shop at walmart? granted, i am neither a nascar fan, nor am i a walmart shopper, but why are the questions included in nearly every poll?

6. my suspicion too. Kind of a check on the rest of the voting/results

most people I know never watch and don't care a bit about auto racing of any kind. of course, it might be the company I keep, or just that the midwest is mentally and socially further away from the deep south than any map would suggest.

7. They Are Trying to Figure Out What Makes People Republican

Zogby and Harris have polled repeatedly about NASCAR,
other sports to a lesser degree,
even how frequently we exercise.
Also watching TV news vs getting news from the net,
being in a union or not,
anyone in the household in the military, etc.
