1. Both
I still listen to NPR. What they are doing to NPR and PBS just pisses me off though. Sick bastards.

3. I've not listened to NPR regularly since 2003 and the

4. Pacifica far surpasses NPR for truth-telling...
and you can't get Air America in Houston without XM. (Since Sirius cancelled it, I cancelled Sirius.)

9. Sadly, you have to live in 1 of 5 cities...or on the internet(s)
KPFT Houston, WBAI New York, KPFA Berkeley, KPFK Los Angeles, WPFW Washington DC.

Several of those have streaming internet, also. It's listener-supporter, noncommercial community radio. DemocracyNow! and Sunday Monitor are awesome, also local news programs and Free Speech Radio News.

In addition to the above, KPFT for example has weekly shows for hispanics, vegans, GLBT, whole mother, Human Rights (local Amnesty International chapter), Indymedia, Native Americans, African American women, African American men, the Haiti Show, The Progressive Forum, New Capital, Flashpoints, the drug war, workers/labor union show, the prison show, atheists. Plus a wide variety -- a REAL variety, not corporate sanitized -- of music.

Sometimes it's tedious but overall the effect is incredible if you have an open mind.

7. Since I got XM, I told Mara and Cokie to go Eff themselves.
It's SO good to listen to Rachel Maddox "Poking a sharp stick into the soft underbelly" of the Neo-Cons instead of listening to Cokie and Juan and Mara LICK that soft underbelly...

8. NPR and Ed Schultz
Edited on Sun Mar-12-06 11:25 PM by CatholicEdHead
no AA for me. I podcast quite a bit at work right now, so it is some NPR (actually more MPR shows) and Ed Schultz. I mix this up with some BBC, ABC.net.au/rn (ABC Radio National from Australia) and some Democracy Now podcasts.

10. If we got AAR here, I would never touch NPR.
Unfortunately, NPR is what I have access to.
