Are the American people this stupid?

What little bits and pieces I caught of this Repuke Southern "lovefest", indicates that their plan for 06 is to run against themselves.

It's like a rapist promising not to rape again.

It's like a killer promising not to kill again.

It's like an alcoholic promising not to drink again.

How stupid do they think the American people are? Pretty damn stupid if they are running as Washington "outsiders".

It boggles the mind. "We own the government. We run the government. Our government sucks right now due to our policies...but elect us anyway...'cause we're against government."

My sig-line says it all.

2. Republican logic
2000: "Vote for the party of personal responsibility and integrity."

2001: 9/11: "Clinton's fault, he should have told Bush that an attack was imminent."

2002: Bush asserts that Iraq *may* have weapons of mass destruction: "Clinton's fault for being soft on Saddam."

2003: Bush finds out that Iraq didn't have weapons of mass destruction: "Clinton's fault for gutting the CIA."

2004: Critics charge Bush with negligence because Osama bin Laden has still not been caught: "Clinton's fault for not getting him when he had the chance."

2005: Hurricane Katrina hits and Bush's appointee drops the ball: "Let's not play the blame game...it was a lot of people's fault.....but probably Clinton's for making so many people dependent upon the government."

2006: "Vote for the party of personal responsibility and integrity."

Scene from "As Good As It Gets" Recut:

woman: "How do you write Republicans so well?"

Jack Nicholson: "I think of a Democrat, and then I take away logic and accountability."

3. As a local repuke candidate says:
"Conservatives have to stop acting like Democrats."

I don't make this shit up; I just report it.

7. ROTFLMAO
I had no idea that Democrats had such a strong grip on the Repukes nuts.

I thought we were the "weak" party??

Well, if the problems are just that "Conservatives have to stop acting like Democrats", I think they all should switch parties.

Typical Repuke. Can't admit their own mistakes and shortcomings.

5. Don't forget "Reform"!
How many times does the party in charge need to "reform"?

4. I wish people would take on the "small government" and "tax cuts"
to the Cons. When a candidate says they are for 'smaller government' (or a supporter, for that matter), they should be specific and define "smaller". Same thing with "tax cuts". Which ones and how much?

These people are masters at repeating the mantra of highly subjective issues. Frankly, it's time that Democrats running for office ask these questions of the opposition. They need to be nailed down.

6. Exactly. I stopped using the term "tax-cut" and replaced with
"service-cut". That really is what it is. More money to the wealthiest individuals, so more services can be cut for all that use them. Think about it, what do taxes pay for?

Roads we drive on = service to the public
Military for security = service to the public
Quality education = service to the public
Police and firemen = service to the public
Social Security = service to the public
Medicare/Medicaid = service to the public

The list goes on and on. What an earlier poster said was so true, and I can see the ads already, where they try to deflect blame from their own failures. They'll say that "The problem is not that their policies have proven to be disastrous to our country...it's that they are behaving like Democrats."

How stupid to they think we are?
