1. Jeff Toobin on CNN was saying that the judge won't throw out
the death penalty because too much time and money has been spent by the government on this case. And he was saying that as though it was a perfectly legitimate factor to consider by the judge. I can't believe that an Officer of the Court which Jeffrey Toobin is, sworn to uphold the law and the Constitution would claim that an issue of whether or not justice was done or justice was denied would turn on the amount of money a particular case has cost the government. To me that's an incredible statement.
2. that's a pretty serious "error". basic witness coaching.
i do think the money is "relevant", but i don't see how the government will save money by having to fight and lose the inevitable appeal.
if i were the judge, i'd give the prosecutor the choice between a life sentence or to declare a mistrial and let him try again and get it right this time.
5. The gang that can't do ANYTHING RIGHT - how the hell do you
screw up when the DEFENDANT HAS CONFESSED? You have to be an olympic gold medal level jerk off to blow something like this. Jesus how the hell are we going to make it through another 3 years of this knee biting incompetence?
