Wes Clark coming up on The News Hour to discuss Milosovic.
I'm in the central time zone. Should be interesting. I heard comments from Holbrooke this weekend.

1. I love Clark. I'm not sure if I will back him for 2k8. I'm going to
watch him closely.
I loved the way he handled the gays that came to him while he served. That made me love him. I don't know if he will be progressive enough to run.

2. I know what you mean.
For me, there are still some things about him that bug me, but I have supported him in the past, thinking I'll never get a perfect match.

I like the way he analyses situations, though, and now more people are repeating his words, even if they are not quoting him. The latest is "We need a political solution in Iraq, not a military one," from Sen. HArry Reid, which is precisely what Clark said.

I think he could win the presidency, and I think I would be pretty comfortable with him as president. Living in Texas, I knew another Bush was just more trouble.

3. How do you mean?
Can you expand on what you mean by "I don't know if he will be progresive enough to run."? Clark's one of the most progressive candidates out there - certainly more so than Sens. Clinton, Kerry and, *cough* Lieberman (hell, my Republican grandmother was more liberal than Lieberman). He's more progressive than Howard Dean and nearly as progressive as Kucinich.

He's more nuanced, granted, on his Iraqi War position than many liberals like, but I believe he's telling the truth when he says we need a find a way to scale down the military and scale up the politics in Iraq so the troops would be granted a safe way out (and the civilians there, too, for that matter).

Not fussing at you, Xultar. Just picking your brain. :hi:

4. I agree. But 2008 is a long way off. Right now I need to see how
he steps up and for whom he steps up for 2k6.

After 2k6 then I'll start re-evaluating Clark based on the issues that occur as a direct result of the 2k6 elections.

Alot can change and I don't want to be locked in. Plus what was that crap last week when he came out for the ports? Was he carrying Bill Clinton's water? I didn't like that. Though I love Bill, Hill, and Clark with all my heart that didn't make me feel good warm feeling I usually have for them.

5. He didn't come out for the ports.
He said this needed to be reviewed and that ALL our ports are weak security-wise and that was the problem - not so much who owns them. Which is probably, sadly, true.

6. I'm going to find his quotes from last week or the week before.
I'm tellin ya. For a Clark fan it wasn't pretty. Do you know what I'm talking about. This is right after it was brought out that Clinton was in on the Ports talks.
