"Like many Iraqi and Arab observers, Muqtada was shocked when US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said last week that the US military would not intervene in an Iraqi civil war, leaving that to Iraqi forces."

' "May God damn you," Sadr said of Rumsfeld. "You said in the past that civil war would break out if you were to withdraw, and now you say that in case of civil war you won't interfere." '

"Cole: I have to admit, it is hard to see what use it is to have US soldiers in Iraq if they won't be deployed in a genuine national emergency."

Why are we in Iraq, again? I mean what is the official line (lie)?

And any sane mind will figure out if the American soldiers stay in the green zone the terrorist will attack the green zone...

For the safety and lives of the remaining troops we have to pull them out!!

4. This seems to be the central question in this - that anyone

should be able to see: If the US is not there to establish order, which would mean intervening in the civil war, then why are we there? Civil war is a reality on the ground in Iraq - there is no longer any rational denial of it. So if the US troops are just going to hunker down and wait it out, then the question has to be asked - to what end?

5. but you remember
Right after Bush said the Iraqis would take over the fight against the insurgents, he said that U.S. forces would be free to hunt terrorists. More military meddling. they're going to sit there until Bush can manage them into another conflict. He just shifts justifications and relys on the ability to calim the rest is classified. Shell game. Iraq is a base of operations for a future assault on Iran. That's the 'end', basically no end.

3. A US "observer" in action:
Look, she's just observing, not intervening ...

6. "Observe" and participate in "trophy" hunts
Remember, the neocons, and those who kiss their ass, thrive on chaos as a necessity/justification. Don't buy into the lame-ass "incompetency" conspiracy theory. Much of the confusion, and things that people claim "don't make any sense" are quite intentional within the broader scope that many Americans are duped into not paying attention to.

7. Rumsfeld's Defence
"The plan is to prevent a civil war and, to the extent one were to occur, to have the Iraqi security forces deal with it, to the extent they are able to."

Don't Like that answer you can suck it!
