DAMMIT! WeatherUnderground is supporting 'Sleeza for Prez!
FUCK! This pisses me off!

Am a real weather nut, an often use the WU site for info around the world.

I wrote a very angry letter to their advertising person, and swore I would let any and all know they are a political propaganda machine.

Here's the main page link, and if Condi does not appear in the right top frame, refresh the page a time or two, and it WILL pop up:

http://www.weatherunderground.com/

Here's the site to "vote" for 'Sleeza as a candidate for 2008:
(it's a NewsMax poll, but WU is only promoting the Sleeze on their homepage)

http://www.newsmax.com/poll/condivhillary/?PROMO_CODE=1C1B-1

If this pisses you off, too, you can write to their ad guy at:

chuck@wunderground.com

And BE SURE TO PUT ADVERTISING IN THE SUBJECT LINE or they won't read it.

Just buy an ad of your own to counter that one!

3. Um...it's a paid ad.
Unless they've explicitly refused a "Draft Russ" (or whatever) ad from our side, I don't have a problem with it. The fees from that ad go to pay for your "weather nut" service. (You could pay $10 a year and have the ads go bye-bye, BTW.)

I've gotten the Victoria's Secret every time I've refreshed, so I'm giving up on that.

9. and the odds are good

that they use an aggregator for many of the ads, at least to fill the spots they don't sell directly. I doubt that the WU ad department goes out looking for Victoria's Secret, they just have the right demographic for the ads. I get the VS and a Pogo.com ad. does this mean that WU is supporting my right to wear women's underwear while playing bad flash games?

4. how many of the good ol' boy repukes will vote for an african american?
Much less a WOMAN?

Let them run her - no worries. Remember the fundies believe in submissive wives, the MAN is the one who makes decisions.

It would be fun to watch them melt down. It's okay for Kindasleezy to be in a submissive role to bush, they see it as politically astute to put a "darky" in the administration. But to have her gitten uppity enough to run for prezident?!?!

Not in a million years would they stand for THAT.

7. Whoops, you beat me to the same idea
and I wholeheartedly agree. The 'good (sic) ol' boy network' isn't going to buy it.

5. So what? They're pushing a sure loser
This country is not ready to elect a woman, let alone an African/American woman for at least another decade or so. There are still too many uneducated bigots...can you really see the South voting for Condi?! I can't.

13. I use Firefox and don't see it
Not that I don't believe you, I just don't get any ads at the top right. Firefox is a beautiful thing.

If WeatherUnderground wants to display an ad supporting Sleeza, that's their right. I'm still happy to take advantage of the free data they supply during hurricane season.

16. It's just propaganda for the cons to float her name.
They've zero intention of actually running her for anything.

Let them waste their time and money on such distractions.

It's less time and money they'll have for other things.
