Buy Ford vehicles!
The American Family Association, a right wing extremist, born-again style organization claiming to have 3,000,000 supporters, is boycotting Ford for advertising in gay publications. They don't like that, so they're boycotting Ford.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/BUSINESS/03/14/ford.boycott.reut/index.html

The AFA claims to have had numerous successes in their fight against anything they're not in favor with, among which here are a few:

1) Getting Ellen canceled.
2) Supporting rally for Judge Roy Moore's decision to not remove the 10 commandments from his courtroom.
3) Getting 2/3 of Howard Stern's advertisers dropped from the show when he had it.
4) Distributing 400,000 copies of a book which tells right wing extremist born-again Christians which products, stores, etc. not to buy at.
5) Brings attention to the National Endowment for the Arts, claiming that tax money is being wasted on them.

So there you have it.

Now I say we get out there and buy Ford, let Ford know we're going to buy Ford, and write the AFA to let them know they're having the opposite effect. Plus, we'll be buying American!

Also, we need to boycott Curves, a company the AFA promotes in their website (http://www.afa.net/about.asp#afa).

2. Let's!
We have always owned Fords, since my brother was a research engineer there (his wife still works there as an environmental engineer). I bought my Subaru because Ford didn't have anything like it and it was just right for our needs (lots of snow with bad roads in the winter). I'm looking into some of the new cars to see if they'll be my next one.

3. I'm boycotting Ford for a different reason.
My Ranger fell apart after 75k miles. Piece of junk. And the Ranger is supposed to be one of Ford's better models.

15. You got a lemon!
My Ford Ranger will be old enough to vote a year and a half from now, and it's given me very little trouble. All round trip between NM and Florida cost me was a fuel pump, and it didn't fry until I'd been back for six months.

The junkyards are full of Ranger wrecks around here, so I'd be able to keep it going for at least another 200K miles if I chose to.

Rangers are one thing Ford did right.

18. Maybe you're right but I'm not taking another chance.
The truck broke down four days after I bought it new.

Had it towed to a dealership (not where I bought it) for repairs.

Explained I had a new Ford that left me stranded. Treated me like crap and no loaner. Had to sit on a curb waiting for a taxi to take me to a rental car place.

Just another reason they won't get my business again.

4. Sorry
Wouldn't buy a ford on a bet. Until they can produce a reliable vehicle, I'll stick with Toyota.

7. The Ford Focus is NOT a Ford design, so it actually lasts.
If you have to buy a Fix Or Repair Daily, get a Focus. Not bad gas mileage, either.

16. I have one
A 2000. Bought it new. We are very satisfied with it and would buy another- if & when we can afford it. Our financial situation isn't as good as it was pre-Bush.

as Henry Ford was known to one big SOB. :puke:

I guess he must have needed that job, that is all I can figure.

13. Donald Wildmon again
He's far more insidious than some of the other RRR leaders, because he does his brainwashing through what looks like "suggestions" and not outright demands. He's a dangerous man--even more dangerous than Robertson who is just a loudmouthed bigot.
