Iraqis say US raid on home killed 11 family members

TIKRIT, Iraq, March 15 (Reuters) - Eleven members of an Iraqi family were killed in a U.S. raid on Wednesday, police and witnesses said. The U.S. military said two women and a child died during the bid to seize an al Qaeda militant from a house.

A senior Iraqi police officer said autopsies on the bodies, which included five children, showed each had been shot in the head. Community leaders said they were outraged at the killings and demanded an explanation from the U.S. military.

...

The U.S. military said in a statement its troops had attacked a house in Ishaqi early on Wednesday to capture a "foreign fighter facilitator for the al Qaeda in Iraq network".

...

Major Ali Ahmed of the Ishaqi police said U.S. forces had landed on the roof of the house in the early hours and shot the 11 occupants, including the five children.

"After they left the house they blew it up," he said

You will never see these pictures in our RW msm television news. The corporations have decided that the American people should not see such things.

Should it not be obvious that war, truly, should always always be the last resort? How can anyone ever glorify war?

Noam Chomsky on Media Control

The point of public relations slogans like "Support our troops" is that they don't mean anything. They mean as much as whether you support the people in Iowa. Of course, there was an issue. The issue was, Do you support our policy? But you don't want people to think about the issue. That's the whole point of good propaganda. You want to create a slogan that nobody's going to be against, and everybody's going to be for, because nobody knows what it means, because it doesn't mean anything, but its crucial value is that it diverts your attention....

14. What was that George? Did you say something?
Oh, right:

"In order to win the war on terror, we have got to strengthen our relationships and friendships with moderate Arab countries in the Middle East," Bush told newspaper editors.
http://today.reuters.com/News/newsArticle.aspx?type=topNews&storyID=2006-03-10T181853Z_01_WAT005042_RTRUKOC_0_US-SECURITY-PORTS-BUSH.xml

Speaking, of course, about the port deal. I wonder what the surviving relatives of that family will think about the U.S., especially in light of our opposition to the port deal? Surely, the temperature of the Arab world is affected more by a failed business deal than children executed in their homes.

25. Support the troops that do THIS?
I feel sorry for our men and women who were placed over there because of Dumbya's lies.

I feel sorry for our men and women who have to make do with improvised body armor because Rummy's too tight to get our troops what they need.

But this is DEPLORABLE...the shooting of small children is NOT something I support by ANY entity.

It makes me angry...I have a 2 year old daughter and I can't even begin to imagine the range and anger I would have if a marksman decided to take her out with a shot to her head. Not to mention the range that my family would feel.

BTW, why does the military say that only one child died when the Reuters photo shows three children?

I get so angry when I see the photos of injured and dead children from this war. I can't help but to put myself in the shoes of the grieving or panic stricken parents.

26. 10 Killer Faries
Ten Killer Fairies

Lyrics by Jerry Joseph
www.jerryjoseph.com

She took his hand
Said apologies aren't necessary
You've been a faithful man
Love and Honor are your legacy

Like to fix my hair
And put on my pretty Sunday dress
Cook you breakfast
It's a shame to leave the house a mess

And the baby's crying
And I push his face into my breast…and
Sing to him softly
This is for the best
But it's hard to face the older children
They know enough to understand
They soon will be delivered
Into Jesus' waiting hands

And the ten killer fairies
Won't pull us apart
And I will hold you here forever
Here in my sacred heart

And if the neighbors would just stop screaming
And accept this as their fate
The comforts in the dreaming
Of the paradise that waits
So let's gather up the family
And let's cover up their eyes
This is only temporary
And no need to say goodbye
And the ten killer fairies
Won't pull us apart
And I will hold you here forever baby
Here in my sacred heart

Well out here in the courtyard
The reflection of the sun
Off emotionless sunglasses
And the barrel of the gun

And I can hear the people laughing
Down at the carnival
And I wonder if they'll remember
How we lined against this wall
With dignity like soldiers
And forgiveness like the saints
Giving comfort to our children
With a silence like the martyrs and examples we've been made

And the ten killer fairies
Won't pull us apart
And I will hold you here
Here in my sacred heart

And our father who art in Heaven
Hallowed by thy name
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
Today…today

Take my hand now baby
Let's look out to the sea
To the tuna boats and dolphins
Let's taste the ocean breeze
And I will not stop weeping
I promised I'd be strong
Just tell me that you love me
Hold me in your arms
And it's funny I remember
When I was a little girl
How easy came the laughter
At the wonders of the world
And how one day I would marry
With a family of my own
But the time has come now baby
To take my family home

And the ten killer fairies
Won't pull us apart
And I will hold you here forever darling
Here in my sacred heart

Not something you look foward to, lie to start one, or pump your fist in the air and say "feels good" before formally declaring war.
