We KNOW Kerry supports censure - hound those not supporting it and
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 03:53 PM by blm
get the hell off Kerry's back today while he's leading the battle on ANWR.

GOPs are attacking ANWR in the Senate today knowing full well that Dem activists and left leaning blogs are distracted.

Why the hell there are so many posts attacking Kerry, who we already know is supporting censure, is just beyond suspicion.

Kerry has always been the lead for Dems on ANWR.

Make your calls on censure, but if you're making calls to senate offices BOTH Dem and Republican, don't FORGET about ANWR.

4. Thank you blm
I always thought we Dems can walk and chew gum at the same time - multitask, no? JK certainly can do both; support Russ in his censure effort and lead the battle on ANWR.

14. Well, it's the whole idea of TARGETING him that really struck me as odd
considering that DUers who called his office were told that Kerry supported censure, and that a press release would be forthcoming, but ANWR is going on NOW.

5. For crying out loud. Why does all of our activism only target
Democrats. Don't get me wrong, some of our actions should target Democrats. But I have no memory of major cyber action that target's the Republicans.

Does Snowe support censure? Who knows, who cares, who'se botherred to ask? If she doesn't, why not?

Same for the whole Republican Senate. What's the point of picking on Democrats, even if a few would actually oppose censure? We should pick on the Republicans because we need their votes far more than Democrats to pass censure.

I bet Republicans have litte or no idea about how DUers feel about any issue.

7. It is not picking on Dems in one sense...
in that we may just be giving them the public support they need -- remember, they are our representatives...

10. But what do we win if every Dem Senator votes for censure?
The Repos hold the majority and censure will fail at this time.

So, what I'm saying is there needs to be a good reason and stratedgy to undertake what we already know is a losing fight at this time.

I would posit our mid term goal should be to take back one or both houses of Congress, because without that, we are lost.

Organizing principles don't require that an issue is winnable in the short term, mid term or long term, but they do require that something is gained by the struggle.

I am in favor of censuring and impeaching the pres and VP, however I believe we should be mostly consentrating our efforts on the Republicans who are able to deliver due to their majority. I also know they won't deliver, and I believe we could use this struggle to help win the mid-term elections.

I could actually care less right now if Kerry or Clinton, or Liebermann sign on or not. I am more interested in having my Repo Senator (Burns R-MT) out there explaining why he won't support censure. Does it have anything to do with his general disregard for the law of the land? Inquiering minds want to know.

19. It would be more useful. imho, if somene from an actual red state
posted it.

I've got Boxer and Feinstein. Boxer's people are always great. (Thank you, Boxer's people!) And Feinstein's are always rude.

But, that can't be the same experience as calling Specter or Sessions or Graham.

So, I'd like to defer to people who are on the ground in those places, as having a unique perspective. Supporting the thread, of course.

I give them all the credit in the world because it can be hard to call them.

Let's not forget that and let's give credit where it's due. :)

Especially after the way she ( Sen. Snow) was "sandbagged" today on the Senate floor by "one of her own" She was presenting her amendment on the floor and they cut her off and wouldn't allow her one more minute to finish her statement!! She was apoplectic!!! Waving her hands and yelling so loud at a circle of Repukes surrounding her, that you could hear her over the normal "din" of the Senate floor!! I'm pretty sure her and Dorgans amendment passed, but I really found myself feeling sorry for her. Hope she sees the light and votes with the left side from now on just as payback to these bastards!!:bounce:

23. Kerry's 10 points, Kerry supports Feingold, Kerry stays on ANWR--my man!
Big picture time.

Who supported Russ on censure? It's a serious question. I've been pressed.

However, Kerry's there. The rest...well, they need to learn a key term:

"clear the bench, our guys in trouble." Kerry is multi - tasking. I like it!

that's exactly what Feingold wanted.

Remember, it's the GOPs who wanted to rush this to vote - Feingold and the Dems are wanting EXTENDED DEBATE on it.

31. Impeachment is MY remedy of choice, but now that Feingold started this we
need to support it, because not supporting him sends the exact same message Kerry has been screwed over with for two decades = Dems don't back up each other at crucial times.
