2. The options at the time
The options at the time were to censure or impeach. I'll take censure any day.

4. It's the worst kind of bullshit
some senate dems tried to push censure in order to stave off impeachment in the house. I'm shocked that they're pushing such misleading crap over as kos.

6. Simplistic nonsense
Am I about to call my Senators, Leahy and Jeffords, cowering? Not a chance. For 32 years Leahy's been fighting the good fight. Jeffords had the guts to walk out of party that meant a tremendous amount to him. He came from a prominent old Yankee repub family. That took guts. Both Leahy and Jefford would suffer no consequences from their electorate should they vote to censure. I don't know their motives for not signing on, but I don't attribute them to cowardice or anything else nefarious.

8. Did I miss something?
Clinton was never censured.

They talked about it, but it never happened. I think most decided it was an unconstitutional violation of separation of powers. Anyway, it never happened.

Personally, I thought the place for it would have been at the Democratic Party convention.
