Author of "Brokeback Mountain" slams Academy & "Crash"
In Britian's Guardian, Annie Proulx referred to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voters as "conservative heffalumps" and referred to "Crash" as "Trash", the Los Angeles Times reported today. "We should have known conservative heffalump academy voters would have a rather different ideas of what was stirring contemporary culture..."

I've seen and enjoyed both films and "Crash" is not "trash", but Proulx is acting like a real sore loser.

2. I think Proulx is not just annoyed about BBM, but about all the others
Crash was not only the worst of the five nominated, it was one of the worst in 2005. It was amazingly juvenile and trite, was simply a rehash of a million other movies, and was beyond unbearable to watch.

6. I guess we'll agree to disagree
And there may be sour grapes involved, but I can't think of a worse movie that came out last year than Crash. Utterly unwatchable.

And I thought it was excellent. You're right, sounds like a sore loser to me.
