TWEETY said Bush not as unpopular as last fall
Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 10:23 PM by Proud2BAmurkin
Asshat said Bush's numbers were at almost an all time low but not as low as last fall. Then they showed a graphic showing him at 36%, three points lower than last fall.

Nobody likes Tweety's cowboy hero Little Lord Pissypants and Tweety can't handle it.

2. No, that twit Chris Matthews, host of Hairball on MSNBC.
Known as "Tweety" because of his big, round, blond head.

17. LOL! The guy who was just elected "Misinformer of the Year"?
Media Matters for America says this about Tweety:

"Since our launch in May 2004, Media Matters for America has monitored, analyzed, and corrected conservative misinformation in the media, wherever and whenever we find it. As you may remember, last year our staff conducted an extensive review of all the misinformation we identified and corrected in the early days in order to name the first annual "Misinformer of the Year." We singled out one particularly egregious purveyor of falsehoods and awarded Bill O'Reilly the dubious title. O'Reilly graciously accepted the award on Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor.

This year, of all the news anchors, columnists, pundits, and reporters whose work we've critiqued and corrected, one man stands alone as a clear successor to the O'Reilly throne. We are pleased to announce broadcast journalist, former newspaper bureau chief, former presidential speechwriter, and best-selling author Chris Matthews has earned the title of 2005's "Misinformer of the Year." At times, it has even been difficult to tell the difference between 2005's Misinformer of the Year and his predecessor."

18. You sure know how to attract attention.
Tweety has a hard on for Bush. That doesn't make him popular here.

A couple of weeks ago he said everybody like Bush except for the wackos.

BTW, do you like Bush?

Welcome to DU.

No I dont like Bush. But I dont think he's evil incarnate either.

Im relatively new here to DU- I consider myself a libertarian Democrat. Matthews, I believe, tries to be objective. He's no Bush lover. He takes both parties to task when he thinks its necessary. When I want astute analysis, I still say he and Tim Russert are the best.

23. Objective? Riiight...
Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 11:13 PM by ocelot
From Media Matters, cited elsewhere in this thread:

Bush sometimes "glimmers" with "sunny nobility." On MSNBC's Hardball, during a discussion with Washington Times editorial page editor Tony Blankley of the effects on President Bush and his administration of the investigation into the leak of the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame, Matthews said "Sometimes it glimmers with this man, our president, that kind of sunny nobility." (Hardball, 10/24/05)

"Everybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs ..." Insulting the majority of Americans who hold an unfavorable opinion of President Bush, Matthews exclaimed on Hardball: "Everybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs, maybe on the left," adding, "I mean, like him personally." (Hardball, 11/28/05)

Matthews praised Bush speech as "brilliant" even before it was delivered. Before Bush had even delivered his November 30 speech at the U.S. Naval Academy, Matthews used variations of the word "brilliant" twice to describe it, while deriding Democratic critics of the Iraq war as "carpers and complainers." (MSNBC live coverage, 11/30/05)

Bush "belongs on Mount Rushmore." Recounting his experience at a White House party, Matthews said that he "felt sensitive" during his interactions with the president, adding: "You get your picture taken with him. It's like Santa Claus, and he's always very generous and friendly." He continued: "I felt like I was too towel-snappy with him," explaining that Bush had noted his "red scarf" and remarked that he looked "preppy." During the same show, Matthews stated: "If gamble that he can create a democracy in the middle of the Arab world" is successful, "he belongs on Mount Rushmore." (Hardball, 12/16/05).

Yup, a guy who calls a speech by the dumbest man on earth "brilliant" before even hearing it and says the same dumbass belongs on Mount Rushmore is real objective.

28. Matthews was OK when the show was called "Politics"
Since then, he has sold out badly.

Interestingly, I consider myself libertarian too. I bet we have different ideas about what that means. (OK, maybe not so interesting.)

30. Matthews is no Bush lover?? You've got to be kidding!
He compared Bush to Atticus Finch!

He is the biggest sycophant in the business. And the worst part is that he tries to come across as unbiased.

14. One of Tweey's most puke-inducing quotes ever:
"We're proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who's physical, who's not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern. They want a guy who's president. Women like a guy who's president. Check it out. The women like this war. I think we like having a hero as our president. It's simple. We're not like the Brits." (5/1/03) --Tweety, orgasmically referring to Commander Bunnypants' staged "Mission Accomplished" gig on the aircraft carrier.
