Poll question: What do you make of the bird flu scare?

I am thinking it is a spin off of the color coded "terror" alerts. In my opinion it's another exaggerated "threat" to keep people in fear of the future. People that are afraid often choose to do nothing for fear of doing the wrong thing. Throw in a little ole time religion and you win.

1. I don't think you have the right choices.

I think the bird flu is real. Sure it's real. But I'm not a bird, so I'm not panicking. All the talk about the transmission to humans is all just a big giant scary "what if?!" right now.

Therefore, the bird flu itself is real. AND the government is using the public's ignorance of it, along with a healthy dose of incomplete information, to scare the hell out of people.

They need SOMETHING to keep people away from the polls come November. The terra alerts just draw chuckles anymore.

.....scare tactic right now. When it hits it will hit, some will get it some won't. Based on about 100 deaths in about two years I'd say our chances of getting it is fairly low.

6. hogwash

All the experts--not spinmeisters working for Bush--say to give it a rest about bird flu. World Health Organization says relax. One scientist said you'll win the lottery before you catch bird flu.

To sum up: It's just another Weapon of Mass Distraction to (hopefully) take our minds off Bush's myriad crimes and failures. At 33% approval, he needs all the WMDs he can invent.
