I belong to a web publication called QAD (Quote A Day) that provides readers with any variety of quotes by famous, infamous, and lesser known people. Some of the quotes are thought provoking and others are simply entertaining.
In each publication the designer of this enzine has provided information to the affect that 9/11 was allowed to happen and we haven't been given any true information since then either. Everyone at DU knows all that - and much more - to be true.
Well, in today's publication a reader had written in with the following comment. Me being who I am couldn't pass up the chance to set some poor uninformed soul straight. What follows is the original reader comment and then my response to QAD.
BTW, just in case someone is interested in subscribing to QAD I've included the web address at the bottom.
Reader comment:
I have followed quote a day for several years, nearly since it started. I have no intention of quitting my
subscription, however the change you have instituted may not have the intended effect. The voice of quote a day has narrowed, become bitter, and is less inspiring. Many of your readers get it and don't need it rubbed in. Enough! I keep reading your column (sometimes), but share fewer of your quotes with others. -Patricia
Thank you Patricia. I absolutely reject the notion that I am bitter in life. I have repeatedly said that I am the MOST BLESSED person I know. That is hardly bitter.
But because of the many blessings I have received, I feel an obligation to shed light upon the darkness in our midst. NEVER mistake this for bitterness of purpose...but actually love.
Love of country... love of humanity... love of Justice.
My response was…………..
Dear QAD,
I have only been a reader of QAD for a few months but I've enjoyed every issue and look forward to many more.
In response to a recent published reader comment please allow me to offer another view. Much has happened in the past five years and I can't think of any of it that has been good. So maybe those who keep themselves informed do eventually become "bitter" and "less inspiring". That's definitely been the case for me because as someone who tries to stay informed I see those who "get it" and do something about it and others who "get it" but do nothing. Yes, I "need it rubbed in" and it will never be "enough" until we can again see the bright light of freedom and guaranteed rights for one and all. So please keep rubbing it in and maybe someday there will be a ground swell of people who "get it" and are willing to fight, and restore those values our forefathers devoted their lives to.
I might suggest QAD concentrate more on political quotes and that way no one can accuse QAD of being bitter or anything else. If every other political quote only wakes up one person those numbers will eventually add up.
Thank you,
