Some embarrassing video clips, re: Iraq War anniversary
I just spent a little time at MSNBC. They have a collection of videos (probably from Nightly News) that lay bare the fiasco in Iraq. I've only watched two or three, but each one was pretty factual. Each of the clips paint the administration and the military as bunglers of the first degree. How embarrassing to recall "Shock and Awe?" How idiotic was the rally to pull down the Saddam statue? How badly were the first actions at Falluja? And don't forget "Mission Accomplished."

I'm sure the FReepers will blame the "liberal media." But the facts speak for themselves.

2. That's the last thing on the administration's mind...
They don't care about Iraqis children, and their tax cuts show they don't have respect for our children either.

5. I posted in the Lounge to get people there to come read this.
I think everyone should.

You've done no less than to find the first concrete example of the MSM getting it. Fine work.

7. Thank you for that link.
Astonishing stuff. It's remarkable to look with your 2006 eyes at something you last saw with your 2003 eyes. The contrast is stark.

9. But it's not only that...
I find it an incredible irony that, for people who claim to so despise Hollywood, they respond so well when their politics and foreign policy are as simplistic and superficial as something out of their favorite Hollywood action film.

10. Good Point
In fact, it plays like a "B" film. Bad actors, all of them! The United States' approach to terrorism is like a 1950's anti-communist film. The Neocon view has no room for complexity.

11. Thanks and a picture of another statue being torn down in a
different place and time.

"Protestors tore down a statue of Riza Shah,
the father of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi."
