If we take back congress in Nov, can repukes vote not to impeach...
...in December, before the new congress is in session.

I heard this possibility on the Ed Schultz show today. Ed was saying the pukes could introduce impeachment proceedings themselves, and vote it down while they are still in control, thus preventing the new congress from doing anything about the war criminal-chimp.

1. There's nothing saying that there
can't be two impeachment proceedings against the same guy. It's not a criminal trial, so double jeopardy doesn't apply.

3. Even if double jeopardy DID apply...
there is no shortage of impeachable offenses...
It's a veritable smorgasbord!~

10. Good, I wasn't sure about it.
It didn't seem to me that double jeopardy would apply.

2. I don't know but I don't think there is a limit on this, is there?
If they want to destroy their party forever, that is the way to do it. Expect MAJOR obscure obstructions thrown up if they try.

5. They can't do that. There are no limits.

The Democrats can introduce impeachment charges now and have them voted down and then take back Congress, introduce the same charges again and get the proceedings started. I think Ed was just joking around when he said that.

6. minor correction
Actually, Ed didn't say it: a caller brought it up,
and I thought it was a clever insight into what we
might expect from the cabal should things get dicey.

9. I think we should be prepared, and prepare the American people, for
disappointment in '06. During the 2001-2004 period, rightwing Bushite corporations gained control of the tabulation of our votes with "TRADE SECRET," PROPRIETARY programming code in the new electronic voting systems and virtually no audit/recount controls. Hot struggles are going on all over the country to get this changed, but the election reform movement is still in its infancy, and, despite some successes and publicity, the "Iron Curtain" over this vital news story is still almost total.

We have to think and strategize LONG TERM. It may be that all we can do in '06 is monitor election officials and results, challenge elections and gather evidence for the case against non-transparent electronic voting run by partisan corporations.

We are getting little help from the Democratic Party, with many Dem election officials having been corrupted by the money and power of the electronic voting scam, and by lavish lobbying--damage wrought by a $4 billion electronic voting boondoggle called the "Help America Vote Act," pushed through Congress by two of its biggest crookss, Tom Delay and Bob Ney, with no controls on partisan vendors, no paper trail requirement, no controls on lavish lobbying, no controls on secret industry 'testing' of these highly insecure, hackable machines, and underfunded regulation.

You wonder why the Bush junta is out of control. This is why. They are not beholden to the voters. They are beholden to Diebold and ES&S, both of which have close ties to Bush and to rightwing extremist causes. These two corporations together 'counted' 80% of the nation's vote in 2004 behind a veil of secrecy.

This is NOT to say don't back good candidates in the primaries and elections. It IS possible to overwhelm the "thumb on the scales" advantage that is being given to Bushites and warmongers by these machines, in some cases, by a big turnout of voters. The fraudsters don't want to jeopardize their long term advantage with these voting systems by being too obvious. And it also may be that they have to pre-program the fraud to certain percentages and that it is not so easy to change those lines of programming during the eleciton. They are impossible to trace, though--they can self-destruct. The only way to detect them is through exit polls. Which brings me to another topic...

It is essential that the Democratic Party fund INDEPENDENT EXIT POLLS in the '06 primaries and elections. The war profiteering corporate news monopoly exit polls cannot be trusted.

And this is the least that the Democratic Party can do for us--considering their failure to protect our right to vote.

Contact Howard Dean. Contact your local party. Demand that they fund INDEPENDENT exit polls--which is vital to monitoring the election results and gathering evidence.

In all justice, the Democrats--and indeed the leftist Democrats, who best represent the majority of Americans--should sweep the '06 elections. But I am afraid that cannot happen, given the non-transparent election system.

Be prepared. Think long term! Tell people THE TRUTH! They NEED to know what's going on!
