During the Vietnam war era, demonstrations got lots of air time and people paid attention. Rightwingers learned from Vietnam protests. One of the big complainst from rightwingers back then was "Why do they show these peace marches on the news? If we just ignore them, they'll go away". Well, fast forward to 2003-2006 and we have the rightwing answer to mass protest; ignore it and it will go away. The media barely covers it because the powers that be have told them not to.

10. Screw the MSM.

The point of all of our nationwide local demonstrations, big small and middlin, was to reach out to our communities, to go around the MSM, to let every car passing by know that people are opposed to the crap, are not fooled, are willing to stand up and speak out.

What I saw was a lot of 'drive by support', and that gave me hope.
